DA* 50-135 Horror Story

Long about the end of September, I dropped my DA* 50-135mm and it separated slightly at the section above the mount. Precisely where yours appears to have separated. I mailed it off to a recommended lens repair service, Precision Camera, where it received immediate attention, was repaired quickly for a flat fee of around $325 and sent back via UPS. Signature was required upon delivery and UPS tried to deliver three times when no one was at home of course. After a brief struggle online, I called UPS to try to arrange that they deliver the lens to a UPS Store near me where I could pick it up. They could not find the package. We started the process for investigating where it might be and replacement cost. Two days later, they still did not know where the lens was. Four days later, I found it was delivered back to the repair shop. I contacted the shop, asked them to send it back to me, they agreed and soon it was on it's way back to me, via UPS. UPS gave me the email notice that it would be delivered during this four hour window and experience told me I might be able to be there. One delivery failed but I was able to set it up so that the lens would deliver to a store where I could then pick it up at my convenience. I was able to get the lens but when I mounted it to a body, it would not auto-focus. Would not even make a sound. I contacted the shop who told me to write "re-do" on the receipt and send it back. This time they had if for a little more than a week.
When I got the email from UPS that the package was being delivered, I again tried to set delivery for a UPS Store so I could pick it but I was unsuccessful. I had someone wait in my house to sign for the package should it arrive before I did and the lens was mine again. The repair shop did replace the motor drive and I was not charged anymore than the initial flat fee of $325. But I was without the lens for about a month. It was a very long month.
The shipping issues I had were no fault of the repair service so I would recommend Precision Camera to anyone.

Don't you love when I are trying to recall an obscure Bowie song and the only thing that keeps popping in your head is another obscure Bowie song?

I was going to remark a bit of trivia I read today which was that supposedly, Bachman Turner Overdrive was turned down by 26 record labels when trying to get signed and I am sitting here wishing that someone would have made it 27.

I saw U2 in concert earlier last week so I have been listening to them repeatedly since.
They put on a great show and if any of you are undecided as to if you want to see them on this tour, get tickets! You will not regret it!

I think you are correct. If the end just has a threaded tube then a T2, Pentax K mount is needed.
This is a manual focus lens though so K-AF is unnecessary. You will put your ZX-50 in MF.
I have a very similar lens, a Five Star 500mm.

If you can, tell us more about the lens and even a picture.
I don't think Quantaray made any screw mount lenses and if this is a auto focus lens with a proper Pentax mount, you need no adaptor. Are you sure the lens has a Pentax mount? Did the lens come with the camera or did you buy it in some other transaction?
I have had a few ZX-50s and ZX-60s in the past. But then I have loved all my Pentax cameras.

Online streaming music services?

It is time to revisit this; at least for me.
After a little more than a year of using the rdio music streaming service, the site was bought and closed by Pandora and I don't think I will recover easily. rdio was really, really interesting in that, it seemed to be the only online music streaming service where you could find and listen to specific music from specific artists; not just build "stations" based on a listening preferences and profile. To me, that becomes just as repetitive and tiresome at times as terrestrial FM radio.
With rdio, I could build libraries and listen to entire albums or artists and specific tracks, make playlists with specific songs. Someone please tell me there are other free sites that offer the same!
I have thousands of records, discs and digital audio files on racks and shelves and harddrives but it was nice once in a while to load up rdio, find an album I do or do not have and just listen to the precise music that I wanted to listen to, now. Not, hey, I want to listen to Pink Floyd, I'll start a Pink Floyd Station and they will play a rotation of artists they deem to be like Pink Floyd or songs that seem to fit some profile I seem to exhibit out habit and tastes. Sites like IHeartRadio, Pandora and iTunes excel in those areas and do have value, but that is not what I am looking for most often.
Does anyone know of an online music streaming service that will let you listen to entire albums of your specific choosing instead of non specific songs and artists of certain genres based on a certain listening habit?

Lennon and McCartney for most of December. The bitter personal criticisms of Ram and Imagine, the bitterness of Plastic Ono Band and the regret found in Wildlife and Band On The Run just for fun.

Opinions and experience with the 18-250mm?

I have had a DA 18-250 for a few years and I would have to say it quickly became my most used lens. When I go out wanting to take pictures but not certain what I will encounter, I always take the 18-250 because the focal range will satisfy most situations.
At 18mm, my copy has trouble attempting focus; it just hums when I press the shutter so I manually focus often when shooting wide. If I zoom out a bit to even 20mm, it has no issues.
Zoom creep is quite annoying also. I keep one of those rubber wrist bands to help create resistance. I also have a complaint or two about the hood. I was the second owner of my copy but when I first got the lens, you had to be fairly deliberate and get the alignment right when putting on the lens hood. Now, the notches and groove stops are worn and I am more practiced so the hood goes on and unfortunately even comes off accidentally, though not often.
I use to use a Sigma 28-300 has my mutli-purpose lens. That thing is crap compared to the Pentax 18-250. The DA 55-300 gets a lot of love around this site as well but it's range just does not satisfy like the 18-250.
I am feel certain you are going to get the lens. I am also just as certain that you will not regret it.
