I know. I have 15-30, but nice small prime would be great, given that it is performing great too. Not going to replace my 15-30, it is great. Just some times small prime is more fun.

Iíd freak out of having all of my phototrip/holiday photos on one or 2 cards. 2000 images, one hickup, 2000 images gone. That is one of reasons I have several cards or laptop to store pictures daily.

This was that what I ment.

There need not to be much more evidence. It has been dropped. But wether you like it or not, Pentax has been thinking of possibility of what getting rear element closer to sensor. And advantage of that. I suppose that they dropped it just because of probem of if it was K-mount. I also think that they will not drop K-mount. I think that advantage of mirrorless in video is not actually so. Maybe little a bit, but problem of overheating sensor -> loosing image quality, will be there. FPS for sure. But for example Canon new RF zoom series show that size can be redused. We will see if optically it still is at same quality, or even better or worse.

But that can't be said that pentax has not been thinking of possibility. K-01 was ahead of it's time.

I do agree. But that is where all others are, except Sony(sony make new mount and models anyway), so everyone want that now. I have been thinking that Pentax developed already lens for K-01, which was going in the mount. So that it could not have been used with K-mount cameras with mirror. to me it sounds little a bit like what is going on with Nikon and Canon right now. Lenses developed for mirrorless only. Especially canon seems to be going for smaller size. DA 40 XS was developed for ultimate compact, and that new what ever was on the paper, had same idea, but with restrictions.

Brand is powerful, why I brought Ricoh in thisis that they have had that GRX line, and it could go well with them. At least better that doing L-mount thingy with Pentax. Which I could say would not be appriciated by long term Pentax fans. which is Ricoh Pentax biggest target group.

but it is lenses companies make money with, not just body. I could see Ricoh branded L-mount camera, but Pentax L-mount...? I understand Panasonic and some others going that way, but Pentax. Some guys jumping ship with Pentax class would be happy about K to L mount adapter. Some how L mount is like M42 back in the days and mirrorless would make that easy, as it is relatively new as how these new mounts has made it be. And as canon and Nikon has showed already it can go many ways. not just where Sony has been going.

that said, If pentax do go to mirrorless race, they would have to makethat adapter. and in that case it could as well be L-mount. I would not hold my breath for that thou..

actually DFA 70-200/2.8 is quite accurate and fast. given that it has nice handle, you really can hold it better than holding on that barrel. I balance my DFA just like using a rifle. most of the weight is not on my arm/wrist. Heie did good shooting quide. canít remember where it was, but he has military background and using same technique help in photography also. Iím not saying it is easy, but good technique helps. also does monopod, which I find too restricting.

if HD coating would improve 31,43,77 then yes. I might get 31 as new. not necessarily 43 or 77. but these lenses has their charasteristic look and one part of that is colour. I’d say thatit is recogniceable. Other thing is if you PP h*ll out of them...

Hey! Leave my green button out of this! I have love&hate relationship with it, but some times it is a life safer. Better that Av or Sv modes. Which can also be fun to use. If you are out of what now, or lazy or busy. Green button is your friend. As long as you don’t happen to have flashes set up and action begins bit early and while you have been chimping/looking pictures and accidentally push green button while bringin camera on your eye level. Just a example, dunno why anyone would do things like that..

Videoing with DSLR

With my K-1 i shoot video about 10-25 % of the time. It is little more complicated than taking photos, since you will need tripod, external mic ect. So have to prepare my self for it.

I have also small OLy m4/3 camera. That I bought mainly for video, and when I want quite small camera. But I use that for photos about 10% of the time. Just for fun. With that camera tripod is not necessarily needed. Mic is good, but it will increase overal size quite a bit. I'm planning to change my Oly for proper video camera.

I actually think that My Pentax for normal 25p Full HD video does quite well and I also noticed that with my RÝde mic it works better than Oly E5MII. SOme how it does not sound as good. Perhaps there is more power in K-1 Mic port or something. I have also tried 60p on oly and 60i on Pentax. there is difference, but not very big one. I shoot FF mode with my pentax. key would be a proper tripod, settings as muted as possible, and bring it up in post. But yes, for better video cameras with 10 bit, better coding, 4K ect. ofcourse it is different.

Giving big promises before it's time could put them in trouble, even in shame. it has been always that they are keeping it cool untill very near of revealing their product. I also think that it can do more harm than good to give too much information away too early. These little twitter things what has been up here lately(they could have been there a while, but it is in Japanese) is enough.

I hope DFA 85 also 2019, but for me it is not as urgent as for you. I bought Sigma 85, while it is good, I'm little annoyed of it's focusing capability in lo contrast situations. MF is good to have, and not. I think that is is quite common problem with sigma. Fast lenses are like that sometimes. I bought it just to see, how badly i want DFA*85, and yes, compared to FA 77 bokeh, it is from other world when distance is greater than 1-2 meters. But FA 77 is not bad.
