here you go mate
seems like when uploading directly to the forum, quality drops significantly
the 15/4 limited is definitely with least amount of reflections
the Laowa colour rendering, especially of the sky, is also visibly different
as for sharpness, I'd say they are all pretty similar

Hi guys, I had a chance to do comparison shots with the three lenses mentioned in the title, the images were processed without any profile corrections, using identical WB, while the exposure was adjusted individually. I used a K5IIs.
Enjoy :)

you are correct about the motion blur there, it was a windy night
however, my 15/4 smc has had a bit of bumpy life with me which shows (been to repair twice)
since I am not much of an artist, more of a pixel peeper :D, I am really happy with the HD version, to me it creates images that are more true to life than smc, which can be very well seen on the image nr. 4 - the tree branches are in reality not covered with little starbursts :)
thanks for comments everybody!

also the aperture blades were rounded which apparently has had a big impact

Hi all, I would like to post this comparison aimed at showing the differencies between the "starburst" effect and bokeh of the DA 15/4 limited lenses in smc and HD version. These are screenshots from LR 3.6 and shots were taken in a quick succession.
Personally, I prefer the HD version for its clarity, reduced starburst and lower price :)
Thanks for comments!

nice! I spent 4000 € in 2 years since I got the K-x and 18-55 DAL but feel at the moment I have enough stuff (but that 300/4 arrgh :D )
now I am trying to focus more on b&w process at home, 35 mm (Z1p) and 6x6 (Pentacon Six Tl) so I`m looking forward to it too :)

I use Metz 48 AF1 bounced with the K5 and have no problems with this combination, given there is good contact between the camera and the flash - make sure the flash`s autofocus assist light goes on instead of the camera`s
nearly all pics shot with the Metz 48 AF1 + diffuser, tilted upwards at 45°, K5 + DA 15/4, DA 35/2,8 macro and DFA 100/2,8 macro WR https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4251753700552.2171244.1487053134&type=3 |

the spots in the first two images look like ones I get with the A 50/1,7, a lens that does not have digital-friendly coating on the rear element
the third image shows the coma of the 15/4 limited, which is quite high and measured for this lens in Lenstip`s test
but of course, that doesn`t explain why you don`t get those with the K7...weird

based on Lenstip`s statement in DFA 100/2,8 macro WR lens review ("the K-5 gives exactly the same MTFs as the Canon 50D" Pentax smc D FA 100 mm f/2.8 Macro WR review - Introduction - Lenstip.com), I always compare DxO Pentax lens tests with K5 with Canon lens tests with the 50D and guess what - they are pretty close with Pentax lenses often getting better results...(DA 55/1,4 on K5 - 17 points, EF50/1,4 on 50D - 13 points)

if it would give me those ugly blue-yellow moiré colours on architecture shots like the K-x did, I would hate my K5 without LPF ;)
the K5 is perfect for me in this area...sharp and no moiré false-colour

that is a large set of filters...good for B+W film shooters
what I think I need are just three filters now - one ND4 soft graduated, ND8 and ND1000 filters, maybe later I will get a reverse graduated filter..they don`t come cheap :)

my filter is branded simply Marumi 49 mm C-PL Made in Japan, and like You said, I also use it to remove reflections and sometimes when shooting moving water
for the autumn foliage shooting, good polarizer is really worthy (when the angles of polarisation work for the photog)
yeah, the 49 mm filter size for many primes is a real system approach and sometimes it is hard to explains such things to canikon users :P
a 49 mm extension ring would surely do, I just had a broken UV filter
there could be some vignetting when mounting the 49 mm Marumi system adapter ring+the 49 mm extension ring on the DA 15/4...but probably not much..maybe someone using this setup could share their experience
by the way, stunning images in Your galleries ;) love the outdoors

the DA 15/4 works well with my Marumi 49 mm CPL, and this thread size works with my other primes too - the DA 35/2,8, A50/1,7 and DFA 100/2,8 WR - this is one more reason why I love Pentax ;)
there is no vignetting with this non-slim filter
to be honest, I don`t use polarizer with the DA 15/4 very often though
but I am very much into Cokin P system, which will be great with the medium format Pentacon Six Tl camera, and would like to use some ND filters with the K5 too
the filter holder would be fitted on the DA 15/4 through one extra filter ring without filter glass (accidents happen :D )

I read somewhere in the Zeiss materials that this assembly of sensor + lens has 10x higher manufacturing precision than traditional SLR lens
