My favorite accessory is the adapter ring that I use to fit my K mount lenses on my Samsung NX1 bodies. :)

Indeed they are, but you have to look carefully.
Any lens with those can only be Nikon F mount.

The things is: the manufacturer or importer could refuse to repair grey market gear, even with payment on offer. They could also refuse to supply spares to independent repair shops to do repairs with.

I can sympathize because I feel your pain. In South Africa the situation is worse. Pentax dealers are few and far in between. They carry little or no stock and everything is special order. The HQ of the distributor (who also handles Fujifilm as far as I can tell) is housed in a non-descript brick building in a light industrial area. I checked the address out on Google Maps. Prices are double way more than what you would pay if you do a personal import, even with shipping costs. Whether they will even work on such an import if it breaks, I do not know.
By contrast, Canon and Nikon have plenty of dealers. The entry level crop frame DSLR and mirrorless models are even stocked by department stores. Their HQ buildings are modern glass and chrome. I drive past both of them occasionally. Their prices are fairly closely matched to overseas ones, so a personal import is not worth it.
By way of example, a K1 II currently works out about USD2900 at a shop in Johannesburg. B&H lists it for USD1800. The markup is about 60%. For a Canon EOS RP, it is USD1280 versus USD1000 (about 30%). Do keep in mind that VAT is 15% needs to be worked out of the numbers but I am too lazy busy to do it right now. The Canon is in stock. As for the Pentax I have no idea how long it will take This situation means that Pentax sales are low, so there is no used market in Pentax bodies.
Being a Pentaxian in South Africa is not easy. :(

You might have the wrong rear cap for it. Nikon F mount and Pentax K mount are vaguely similar. You can sorta, kinda, sometimes mount the one lens on the other body. Not recommended but the same caveat applies to the caps.

I looked up the ZAR SGD exchange rate and will have to pass on this one. Very cool, though. I believe thes are very rare. Good luck with sale! :)

Do keep in mind that this lens works with those new-fangled mirrorless wonders. An aperture of f/11 is really not a problem. The viewfinder screen just goes lighter to compensate for the relatively dark image from the lens. Also, those mirrorless wonders have the latest in sensor technology - high ISO is not a problem either.

Not an acquisition, more of a re-acquaintance. I was looking for something in the safe when I noticed a hair dryer box and wondered why it was there. Inside was not a hairdryer, but my trusty Pentax AF400T. Its status had been "misplaced" for quite some time. :o

I find myself wondering how much research and development would be needed to bring out a 645Z II. It is probably not just a matter of changing the sensor and leaving the rest as is. With double the resolution, the CPU needs to crunch more data. To do it in a reasonable time, more power is called for. Writing out this new volume of data also means new and improved buffering, card interface etc. Any new camera these days must do 4K video, even if it is not really relevant.
How willing Ricoh is to spend the money, time will tell. I am not holding my breath. The entry level medium format market used to be Pentax territory. Fujifilm may have it cornered already. Even Hasselblad has moved down market in recent times. There might be room for both mirrorless and SLR models in the segment, but the 645Z is falling behind. With the relaxed pace of the K3 III rollout in mind, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 645Z go quietly into the night.

Towards the end of last year I picked up a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 for a good price. It works very well on my K200D but I now find myself wondering why I have it. LBA is real, after all... :(
Perhaps I need a KP body to make it shine. ;)
