Anyone used the Neewer Vision 5? It seems like a very good bang for buck, but I'm curious if anyone has used it on a Pentax....particularly the HSS functions

Do I have to use it in BULB?? Think I was just using manual, but read some other cameras required BULB for astro....

Interesting....I'm trying to figure how this was achieved with Additive?
I'm guessing the Moon was not in one of the frames

Seen that a long time ago....it provides no info on what additive is actually useful for, just what it does.
Facinating!
Interesting! I'll check that out sometime.
Hmmmm similar to how you could use Bright Mode, but more subtle I suppose. Very cool!

So since I'm on a composite kick these days, I'm curious what people out there are finding this mode useful for; I am of course speaking of.......Additive.
The others are quite straight forward on their uses.
Bright: Simulates double exposures, and is useful for star trails, car trails etc.
Average: Virtual ND simulating long exposures by averaging many.
Additive: What is this even good for???

I know....That's why it could be implemented into camera composite.

Recently shot some composites, made me realize how much a simple implementation of a auto-align feature would be very useful. Any movement whatsoever in a composite destroys the sharpness, and it can be frustrating sometimes.
Hope you're reading this Pentax.....

Overall the K1 is of course a big step up. If all you're concerned about is mostly macro though....you may be better served with higher pixel density of a KP

I don't still shoot 35mm film for resolution, that's for sure.... It's more about the process. I'd say it's about FUN, more than anything. On a technical level Digital surpassed film a long time ago. (6x7 still hard to match with digital)

Same....4:3 or 5:4. 3:2 is just a bad ratio IMO. Hope we do away with it.

Hopefully not.
It's not FF 645, and its crap 3:2 ratio. This would be a downgrade.

Thanks, hopefully spare some headache for a few
Yeah, it was frustrating and time consuming to figure out. I was trying to capture a water scene at the time and had gone through multiple sets, all with the same problem until I turned horizon correction off, then presto! Tack sharp after that...shame I had lost most of my good light by that point. haha

No software, I'm talking about in camera composite mode.
And yes I'm referring to the in camera horizon correction. My use case was no SR, and tripod.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, so I thought I would.
When doing composite shots a long while back I couldn't figure out why they were coming out so blurry. Turns out the culprit was horizon correction.
So quick tip for composites

They still seem to like a lot Pentax has to offer. I think they're pretty fair to Pentax. I don't want to be a blind loyalist and I admit Pentax deserves some ridicule for things.
At least they didn't forget Pentax has a new flagship coming like Tony Northup just did in his "upcoming 2020" video

As much as I love my M4/3. If my goal was just to adapt legacy manual glass on the cheap, I'd buy a used original A7 FF.
Legacy glass doesn't shine very well in my experience on the smaller, more pixel dense M4/3. You'll get much more out of those lenses adapting them to a FF. And you can find original A7's cheaper than dirt on ebay.

Fuji's GFX 100 already has IBIS, so I think they'll need something more than that to remain competitive. Maybe they'd be able to partner with someone for a whole new FF 645 chip...like they did with the 645D and Kodak...

Speed would primarily be dictated by pixel density, and if it was an 80mp FF 645 with modern image processors, it'd be faster than the old 645z.
Video should just be forgotten entirely in MF, imo.
IBIS would be great.
If they could manage a FF645 at 7k$ or so, it'd be a real winner.
They have to do something, or forfeit to Fuji

Well if Pentax is still truly in the MF game. I suspect a FF 645 will be needed to compete. Even if it's less than 100MP, a FF 645 would be great!!
