Item for Sale
Pentax DA 18-135 WR

Asking Price
235.00 USD

Item Location
Pittsburgh, PA (United States)

Item Description
I can't believe the time has finally come to sell this lens. It was the first Pentax lens I've ever owned (came with my K-5II) and it may very well be my most used lens as well (even with the K-1). It is in great shape and has never been abused. I'm certain that I got an excellent copy of this lens, as I never understood those who gave it less than stellar reviews. I am only listing it as I'm buying the 28-105 to allow me to shoot in full frame on my K-1. There is a lot of history with this lens, and some of my favorite and best selling shots have been taken with it. Comes with hood and caps.

Here is my Flickr gallery with shots that I've taken with it:

https://flic.kr/s/aHskTc8MGn

I'll upload photos of the lens itself when I get home later tonight.

Item for Sale
Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 HSM II

Asking Price
525.00 USD

Item Location
Pittsburgh, PA (United States)

Item Description
This lens is a treasure that took me a while to obtain, but I need to continue scaling down my collection for a home purchase. The Sigma 50-150 has been called optically equivalent to the incredible Pentax 50-135 - the trade off is much quicker and reliable auto-focus for lack of weather protection. This lens is in perfect condition and was purchased from another Pentax Forums user. I have used it primarily at weddings and was extremely impressed with it both on the K-5II and K-1 (full frame mode and cropped off edges in post). Hood, caps, original protective case (not pictured), and box (not pictured) are included.

I have a very good history of happy buyers so far, and all of them can say that their lens showed up in a very well protected nest of bubble wrap.

Reasonable offers are accepted.

Thank you for providing the Android version for free for today. A few quick test results with my K1 and Samsung Galaxy S7... I shot jpg only on highest settings and over the course of five 14MB photos, the average transfer time was 44 seconds with a standard deviation of 6 seconds. In comparison to the Ricoh product for the same photos I had an average of 35 seconds with a SD of 4. I'll be happy to keep testing if there are any updates to it. Thanks!

I'll agree with that statement with the added disclaimer that the M 28 is a great lens. I had almost held onto mine even after getting the K version.

Some tech support sites take the correct answer to a question and put it at the top.... that would be useful here and this would be the response that would be at the top. If I could add one more thing - the viewfinder is slightly larger on FF cameras as well. On a complete side note, Wifi, built in gps, and the tiltable screen are two non-ff specific features that were very nice upgrades from my K-5II.

While the K 55 1.8 is a great lens... the K 28 3.5 is a must have and I'm surprised (even with the slow market I've seen on here lately) that it has lasted more than a couple hours.

Thanks for the compliment!
That is a great point to bring up for those who might want to get ultra-nit picky.
Really the only time where this would cause an issue is if someone were using a stitched image to judge distortion and across-the-frame sharpness.

I'm pretty big on not faking things, so based on the fact that I don't feel guilty I assume what I've done here is still considered legitimate. This is a 25 photo stitch that enabled me to capture a much larger perspective while still keeping the same angle that I wanted. If the individual photos didn't overlap, this probably would have been about a 9 photo stitch, however I overlapped quite a bit just to ensure that I'd have enough room to work with in framing my final composition. Let me know what you think of the shot and your feelings of the ethics of stitching.

Asking Price
750.00 USD

Item Description
Due to the need of emergency funds, I'm selling my most valuable and loved lens, the DA* 300. I've never had another lens that renders as beautifully or has as vibrant of colors. This is one lenses I said I'd keep forever but I'll just buy another some day. It is incredible both on my K5II and K1. Perfect condition. Caps, hood, case, and tripod mount included. I can dig out the box if desired, too. Check out my other auctions for a Sigma 50-150 and FA 43 as well. As anyone who had purchased from me can attest to, I go to the extreme to make sure your lens is packaged safely. Thank you very much.

what is best ISO setting for outdoor use?

Looks like the low end native ISO on your camera is 200 and the noise increases considerably after 1600... so I'd work within that range. Remember that noisy photos are better than blurry photos, and if it comes down to having higher ISO vs needing to raise exposure in post, take higher ISO every time.

Tried Squarespace for a couple years but was never able to customize my site to my liking.
Tried Zenfolio but they had horribly bad customer service and unethical business practices when it came to ending my trial.
Shootproof is awesome as a back-end print ordering site (I use it for my portrait work) and they also use ProDPI which is a huge plus. They aren't really set up to use as your main website, however.
Have been with Smugmug and am incredibly happy with everything except for:

1. The inability to allow encrypted connections for custom domains (which leads to browsers telling the end user that it is an unsafe connection and that they should not enter credit card data... despite the fact that the actual checkout page is indeed encrypted).

2. The Smugmug-branded sales process. Once the customer enters the checkout page, they depart from your branding and enter a Smugmug themed page that includes prominent casual language (the order summary refers to their products as "the goods," the shipping address title is "Who's the lucky one," etc.) This continues with email shipping and order confirmation updates as well. While it isn't what I would call unprofessional, it definitely is casual and may be in strong contrast to the theme or mood of one's own page.

FA 43, K 55 1.8, and DA* 55 have all worked great for me and are ff compatible.

My 43 is by far the sharpest of the 3 when wide open, and its very sharp when viewed at 100%. This lens loves people just like the 77.

K 55 has some of the finest bokeh out of any Pentax lens in my opinion. Sharp enough for portraits, beautiful 3D rendering, and the focus ring on mine smooth like butter with the perfect amount of tension.

55 1.4 gives you silent AF, WR, and a bit more light for more $$$. Bokeh is a bit smoother than the 43 but not as good as the K55. I use it wide open with the hood on my K1 and I have no issue with the small amount of vignetting. In my experience, sharpness is well below the 43 and somewhat lower than the K55 but still very acceptable for portrait use.

I can't leave out the DA 50-135 and Sigma 50-150 which both are incredible portrait lenses and cover the range you're referring to. They're very similar image quality-wise with the main difference being the Pentax having WR and having possible SDM failure, while the Sigma has much more robust and reliable silent AF but lacks WR.
