Vehemently disagree with that nonsensical view on the DA*300.
DA*300 is a fantastic lens (bar the potential SDM problem).
Completely useable at f4 and has a minimum focus distance of, i think is 1.4metres.
I did some very rudimentary comparing of DA*300 and the much vaunted Nikon 300/4 PF before.
No match.
The DA*300 excels all over.

g'day fellow users.
I did look up the resources here and also done the lens compatibility check but couldn't quite understand what i saw.
So, a stupid Qn but, pardon me.
This Sigma lens, the 70-300 DG OS.
Can this lens be used fine on the K200D?

Based on the result i see on the lens compatibility checker.
It seems the K200D is unable to control this lens.
But just wanted to ask, in case i am deciphering it completely incorrect.

i cannot be 100% sure i be correct on this.
But what i am aware, in the Pentax family of DLSRs, only the KP is equipped with this VERY useful feature / function.
Still baffles me why Pentax did not, from the KP onwards, include it as a standard feature / function.

g'day fellow users.
Listing this pristine set of the Pentax AF160FC macro ringflash.
SGD580 (inclusive PayPal fee, exclude shipping).
For those who are into macro and looking for a very capable ringflash, this is the one.
It is a fullbox set, lacking only the outer paper box.
Other than that, everything else is in.
You can see from the attached pics, the different sized rings are there, the adapter for using with the 100mm macro prime is there.
The battery compartment and contact points are in fantastic condition.
Ringflash itself works fine.
Both left and right side are fine.
Should still have many years of life left in this very pristine set of this gear.

Given that Pentax (Ricoh) cannot even be bothered to do the right thing on the K-30, K-50, K-S2 etc solenoid affair, am quite sure they aren't ever going to be this generous on this matter.
The BARE MINIMUM they can and should do, is to please use perhaps two to three or four more screws than whatever is used now.
Given that this thing about Pentax lenses coming apart is not limited to the DFA 150-450 (it also affects the DA560) (and on the 300PLM it affects in another way), they can and should please just use a few more screws if they are going to use such tiny screws.
Everytime i use the DFA 150-450, i have this dread that this might happen.

g'day fellow members.
listing this fantastic legendary prime, Tamron SP AF 300mm f2.8, pretty rare in Pentax mount, and also rare in such great condition.

This is a lens with some heft (fellow member Norm put it best, one does not handle such a lens, one manages such a lens).
Cosmetic condition is relatively very good.
any scratch marks are those consistent with normal usage (nothing that is out of ordinary and no dinks whatsoever).
See accompanying images of the lens (with a K-1 mounted on it).
Included images of the overall lens itself (with and without lens hood attached) and also the different items associated with it.
Glass is clean and clear.
Aperture blades all fine and snappy.
Aperture ring 'A' position clicks into place nicely.
Original Tamron lens hood fits onto it snugly (screw-on type).
AF on this lens is blazingly fast.
This lens has violently fast "very torquey" AF.
Comes with the original Tamron 112mm front clear filter (which itself is rare and is in very good condition, other than some of the lettering came off).
Comes with the original Tamron filter for the rear drop-in as well.
Comes with a set of filters (to fit onto the rear drop-in filter holder).
Some of them are original Tamron (a couple of ND filters) while some are Kenko.
Comes with the original Tamron sling bag that's for this lens.
(Sling bag itself is in very good condition and the sling bag itself weighs quite a bit).
Unfortunately, it is without its Tamron front cap (it came to me like this).
But the potential new owner could source for such front cap from third-party sources.
This lens is certainly handholdable.
Though that will depend on individuals and their preference.
