Wow, excellent choice Barondla. Like others, I had not noticed the focussed brick wall in the water drop! Brilliant, Titia, congrats and well done.

Thanks, Bart. Not sure how long I'll hang in this time... I seem to come and go and go and go.

Some nice shots in this topic. Loving the LX100 ones too, especially the condo complex from pbancr :)

I'm using a Caselogic with a side zip to hold batteries and extra cards if required. Its very similar to this one Case Logic Point and Shoot Camera Case - Case Logic

LOL! Just noticed I am months late with a post to this thread. Oh well...

I enjoy photography because it gets me out of the house and into nature. and I like showing friends and rellies where I've been and what I have been doing. Otherwise I would simply vegetate as I age.

Here we are a month later, and I thought the GRIII would be available by now, but it wasnt, and CR Kennedy here in Oz had a 15% off for Black Friday, so I grabbed a GRII. I think I will be happy with it.

Yeah, me too. I love my Pentaxes so I would be hanging out to see if there are new entry level cams (usually much lighter than the flagship models) in the offing.

I'd also be interested in that. I guess the only way, really, is to handle one. But, at this point, not only am I not considering a KP, I'm also considering selling off my K5... I will make do with my K200D, if I sell the other.

The weight difference is marginal between my K5 and the KP (37g, hardly worth thinking about) and in dimensions, the K5 is smaller all round. I considered it but its not a goer, for me.

A smaller lighter Pentax would suit me, too. The arthritics in my wrists and hands mean I very rarely use mine, these days, and the post-k5 models seem to be heavier than ever. Yes, there are a few lighter and smaller but the differences are minor...

Glad someone mentioned this, I was about to ... I have the original X100 and I love the hybrid vewfinder. It would be great if Ricoh brought one to the Pentax lineup, but lets not get carried away saying its such a new concept, let alone (@winder) that one has never been brought to market.

So glad to see your list. Great lenses. I had that Tamrom 18-250 and sold it to my eternal dismay. For landscapes, you probably dont need better than the 17-50, it will see you right at all hours of the day. Have fun!

Can you list the lenses you have there? I suspect the three at front are all Sigmas, and is the one immediately in front of the K5 a Pentax lens? Whatever the case, for sports you'll probably be wanting a long zoom, so at first that one to the left which looks like it might be a 70-300mm.. might be OK, but I dont know much about Sigma lenses. I have the Tamron equivalent, but better than both might be a Pentax DA55-300. You'll need wide for landscapes, looks like you have an 18-55mm lens there, and that would be fine. As you're just starting out, I'd recommend sticking it on auto and then checking what the camera decided was good, for the shots that look good, once you get them uploaded to your computer.

Others will have other opinions :)

Toby (black and white, my kid) and his nemesis, Prince. A nastier cat you will never find. He is not averse to slashing the nearest human. I've developed a low throaty growwwwwl which makes him nervous enough to flee, after he has been monstering Toby.

Poor Toby. He's quite depressed.
Toby by iPhone 6S, Prince by Nikon Coolpix P610. Both edited with Hipstamatic Wonder Lens and W40 film.
