Conditions here were much less than ideal for a great image. With that said I still wanted to play with making a horizontal panorama with the new lens. The K1 was on a tripod, I used the cameras level for horizontal and vertical alignment. F 8 or 11, ISO 400 1/500th? The first image was in the center unshifted. I then clicked left 10 clicks and 10 images. I then rotated the lens and clicked right 10 clicks and 10 images. For a total of 21 images. As I understand, each click moves the lens one millimeter. I used Microsoft Image Composite Editor to make the panorama. Not the best software for panoramas but it is free. I will need to invest in a better program. The next experiment will be with a tall building and converging lines. ---------- Post added 10-04-18 at 08:55 PM ---------- A big thanks again to everyone that took time to respond to my post.
Just my opinion, but I think that the Pentax community. Is the most helpful and friendliest online.

photoptimist,
Thank you for the helpful information. I had a chance to play with it after work today, a few horizontal panoramas.
Hoping for better light next week. I had no idea that it had filter threads, a big plus. ---------- Post added 10-04-18 at 07:50 PM ----------
interested_observer,

Just picked up a near mint copy.
I have been searching here and the rest of the net for the manual for this lens.
I will be able to figure out this lens, but a manual would be nice to have access to.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Scott.

Sitting in a small cafe/bar in Hallstatt, Austria this past May.
While having lunch, I could not help but observe the two guys seated at the bar.
They were having a conversation that was a mixture of English and German.
Definitely not tourist, local characters and regulars at this establishment.
The look on her face, while listening to them. To me is priceless, I would love to have known what she was thinking.
CC is always welcome.

Stopped by my local camera store today to pick up a 77mm Polarizer filter.
I spotted a beautiful looking K1000 that had a bargain price tag on it.
I had to take it home with me.
Both it and the K1 will be going to Iceland with me.
Based on inspiration from watching the National Geographic video about the last roll of Kodachrome film shot by Steve McCurry.
I am only taking one roll of 36 exposure black and white film.
It should be a creative challenge. Most likely a 28mm lens on the K1000.

I am headed to Iceland in July. I will be taking my K-1, DFA 28-105, Rokinon 16mm and my K-3 as a backup body.
I have a DFA 150-450 and a Sigma APO 70-200 f2.8 with the matching 2x.
Only one can go, which one you recommend taking? Thanks in advance.
And I will be taking a sturdy tripod.

B&H Santa brought me the D FA 150-450 this year.
Yesterday was my first chance to use it to capture the Moon.
The results were very nice.
ISO 400 F13 1/1000th.

Incredible image, I would love to try something like this with my K1 and D FA 150-450.
I have never used the Astrotracer before.
I have taken multiple night images and stacked them for star trails. So I am somewhat familiar with that part of the process.
Where and when to aim the lens would be the area that I lack the needed knowledge.
Any suggestions to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Scott.

Sweet system, I have a similar set up in my cave. The new systems can't compare in sound quality IMHO. Also they just look cool.

One of my favorite subjects are old grain elevators. This one is located in the hamlet of Skiddy, Kansas. Made with my Pentax K1 with a Pentax D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR lens.
