Pentax 24-70 vs 28-105

These are two different lenses- the 28-105 is a true walkabout, prettty sharp and useable wide open. Leightweight. The 24-70 I keep for when I really need 24 mm (which is not that often) or when I am anticipating poor light, when the contstant aperture and f2.8 is actually useful

I wasn’t feeling particularly creative when I set this week’s challenge, but, blimey, the entries were all fantastic this week. Loved judging and very hard to pick. Here are my thoughts on the entries

aaacb - certainly a laid-back photographer, nice use of mono
Hattifnatt -lovely photo, restrained tones, interesting composition and intriguing subject-bonus point for seeing the image on the camera screen
Bruce Clark – lovely colours, a classic lens hood on backwards, and at the seaside when you need the lens hood to work!
atupdate -a brave photographer, a dynamic composition
djb47- an intriguing photo that tells a story
SpecialK -a good example of a specialist at work (I don’t think pole photographers are that common over here)
Michail_P – lovely lighting, intriiguing, is that chap taking a photo of his tripod??
gump – definitely my kind of photograph, a comment on how we photographers reflect but distort our subjects??
pacerr – a great person shot well exposed and composed with the dog int he right place
rod_grant – lovely shot with well controlled muted tones and a clear subject
bigoak- “I am a camera” fun but also a little disturbing with the cyclops vibe!
noelcmn – another classic Noelcmn “street” that shows his warmth and connection with people
CedrusMacro – the light makes it, would have liked to see a little more of the camera
Fdooch – Intriguing shot but a very good use of a triangular composition
ramseybuckeye - watch the birdie en masse! Some expensive looking cameras there (and not including the binos!

And the winner is....Hattifnatt!

I love this photo, the colours are great, a great candid and an intriguing food item!!

Honourable mentions to gump and Michail_P
