Kiron is the marketing name for the products made by Kino Precision Industries for their own product line, but as many other optical companies did they filled gaps in their production capacity with selling lenses to various different large outlets/stores and branded third party manufacturers like Panagor or Vivitar who all bought in their products.

I believe Komine is a separate entity, but I know too little. Wouldn't it be great with a book of all different optical manufacturers, who made optical glass only and sold to others, which company made their own lenses and sold to others and so on.

6x7 fungus

There are plenty of videos showing the amount of abuse and dirt on the lenses in order to make any visible impact on the IQ of a picture.
Generally, the closer the dirt/fungus is to the rear of the lens, it is more likely to be visible, but still, it takes a lot to be seen in the image.

There is no simple quick fix to get rid of fungus on your lens surfaces, the only way is to disassemble and clean it carefully.
There are several "how to do" videos on YouTube, I'm not sure if there is one specific for your lens.
The 105mm shouldn't be too different though.

I do love primes, the balance of the camera with a prime lens. The optical qualities, as well as the limitation to work with your feet, is quite beneficial to your photography.

Welcome to the Pentax Forums!.
Personally I started shooting on a Pentax ME back in 1980-81.
Being from the "other side of the pond" I have mostly visited the airport Newark there, but I actually went to the Jersey Diamond shopping mall to check it out, or at least that I recall it was what it was called back then.

No, but I still wish I had my first DSLR with 6 Mpx CCD sensor. I'm thinking of buying one 2nd hand someday, so I claim it back.
I also had something for the CCD and their reproduction of colours.

Some of the pictures I still have though:

Sigma stops K-Mount support

Sigma must have, I have no experience of my own of Sigma's more modern lenses, just a 24mm I bought in the mid-1980s for budget restraints, besides a couple of zoom lenses I got with cameras I bought but never really used, although it was supposed to be better than average I never liked the lens and later when AF came in the picture their lenses were notorious for hunting for focus, something that Tamron was much better at.
But probably that is in all earnest because Tamron had a deal with Minolta and subcontracted several of their lenses, so they knew how the focus signals worked.
Lately, I have read a lot of reviews that confirm they are much better and especially after firmware updates.

The second issue I have heard about Sigma lenses is from people in the business working with repairing lenses and for all their "feeling" apart, mechanically the Sigma's are inferior and prone to break, especially the aperture turns into a salad after a few years of good use. The Sigma zooms I picked up by accident when buying cameras pretty much confirm it; half are "dead" focusing screw, zoom mechanism or aperture are broken.

Though I confess lately Sigma has made some tempting lenses, I still consider buying but; it's hard for an old dog like me to change my habits.

Kenworth is a big name in the trucking business, although I have little experience of them as here in Europe the market is dominated by Scania, Volvo, Mercedes, MAN and a couple others.

Of course you couldn't focus at infinity unless you took off the extender, or you have to use one like the [choose your brand] Macro Focusing Extender, mine is from Vivitar and it works really well.
I was surprised that it handles so well, with little tradeoffs.

The first camera I used was a borrowed Asahi Pentax ME, but the first camera I owned was a Ricoh XR-7, and it was a really good camera with great lenses too.
Although I confess I switched to a manual Ricoh XR1s but all my lenses were SMC-Pentax later, from 15mm ultra wide-angle over 35mm, 105mm to 135mm.
So I love Pentax lenses but I have a passion for Ricoh too. Their 105mm f/2.8 Macro was superb!

Why sell; just simply give it to me? ;)

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

(I know; I'll probably go to hell for this...)
