Approximate cost for LCD replacement?

I had the experience a year or so ago involving a K10D that I had to replace the rear LCD. Upon pricing it out I learned it would cost about $60.00(Canada) for the screen. I Goggled a DIY breakdown of K10 & dismantled it quite easily.....(the tutorial was very descriptive). I never did order the LCD but intend to when time allows?????
I`m not sure what it will cost to have the LCD replaced by a repair shop but if you`re a hands -on person it`s not that hard..... good luck!

Hello Mike....... looking to slim down myTamron collection a bit but make the keepers a bit more automatic.Would like to trade off my 35-135 mm(22A) for your PK/A mount,I`ll include a Ricoh mount(modified safe for Pentax),works as a PK should. Let me know if this works for you ..... understand if you want a straight sale... already have a 28-80 mm that needs the PK/A to make it complete. Thanks in advance! Photally,Cal

How often do you format your SD Card?

Everytime I load pics to computer the card is returned to camera & formatted.... ready for next shooting.Eliminates the annoyance of doubling up on images already on file.... just find a system that works for you and go with it.

k10d question

Hey John...... if you`re unsure when deciding on a setting to get started with the K10, just try Program(P) and start clicking. This is usually the setting I have set as default for my wife to use, it gives decent results for most of her photo needs.
Don`t feel overwhelmed by all the different modes on the K10... just try them all!!!! I have the K20 also .... nice upgrade from the 10 (which is still a great value).
Best of luck with your choice!!

Hey Paul.... Welcome to the Forum ! waiting will likely save you some cash BUT be sure to get that K5 in your hands & be confident with it before the wedding.
I shot my daughter`s wedding a few years ago & found it quite hectic to be on both sides of the lens..... I would advise getting someone to "fill in " for you when those special shots require you in the frame.... be sure they know your camera `cuz weddings don`t give you that second chance!!
Best of luck with the K5... but keep the K10 handy for backup.

Can anyone tell me what this ring on Tamron lens is?

The ring might be just a protector for the rear mount during shipping??? If you have concerns give Tamron an email with pic of the ring....I`m sure they can advise you..
best of luck!

Whoa there.... not a good idea to open the back without finishing the roll, the paper backing over your neg strip is meant to seal off the roll from any more light & may cause problems if not wound fully onto your take-up spool.(You may have some unwanted exposure.)
I`ve used same method described above by Steinback(paper tape on roll plus elastic band),...... hope you enjoy your 645, I`ve had Mamiya & Bronica models , great format!!!
Best of luck ..... keep clickin`

Hey DanielT74,
Boy, if you were trying to start a discussion group on merits of LX (or have succeeded !
I had an LX for a year or two... actually didn`t enjoy it as much as my MX but really found both reliable & well-made.

Welcome to the Forum,Bruce(checked your Profile).... you really had good fortune to snag the LX & MX bodies.... I`ve owned both models over the years ... great cameras for sure!! Also had the DL but gave it to my son, just stuck with my K10 & K20D.
Hope you enjoy the Pentax glass.... keep clickin`

Hello to All,
I hope I`m in the right section for my question.... picked up a Super-Tak 28mm f3.5 this last Summer & got some very nice shots with it. However, when focused out to Infinity it has to be "nudged" back a bit to bring it to sharp focus.
Is it possible to adjust the lens collar to compensate for this focusing problem? My Super-Tak 55mm f1.8 doesn`t have this problem..... looking for some feedback on this ... thanks in advance!

I went from kit lens to a Sigma 17-70 f 2.8-4.5 .... quite happy with it for portraits,weddings ,...... great close-focus(about 4 or 5 inches),not true macro tho.
I`ve been using primes a bit more lately.... just involves more footwork !!results are worth it most the time.
Best of luck with your choice!

I tried out one of these scanners(similar),,,, borrowed from a friend, it was pure JUNK !!!! If you`re wanting a decent scan you`ll have to spend a bit more.
Check Cnet reviews for their reviews on scanners... they usually give some good reviews ,...good luck!

Pros Light, great basic starter camera, uses AA batteries Cons Rather out-dated, 6mp,slow AF Rating 7 Price (U.S. Dollars) 590.00 (in 2006) Years Owned 3 years

I can recommend this camera: Yes

Value, Features, Performance & Size
My first DSLR...( replaced my Pz1p`s shutter problem on vacation)...great camera, decent jpegs, good colors, exposures were usually good too. Very user friendly, menu is easy to catch -on to, a bit slow with AF,also a little erratic showing battery strength(will display low reading but if you switched it to OFF then turned ON it would show full charge.!!)

Camera Review
Overall this camera has served me well, shot over 8,000 pics with no serious issues, handed down to my son & it`s still going strong!! :)

Hey stormtech.... glad to see you got your K20 !! when I made the switch from film to digital one of my concerns was the weight of my new Pentax.( had bought the DL in 2006). I didn`t care for the light body compared to my film cameras but the pics made me forget all that !!
I`m now very happy with my K10 & K20..... find them very solid & dependable, but still lusting for the K5... :)
Hope you enjoy your K20 & all the great people on this forum.... Keep clickin`
