From the " Butterflies are free " exhibit at the Botanical Gardens. They set free about 10,000 butterflies in the large green house. Great place to visit.
I'm still shopping for a Macro lens so I use what I have at hand to the best of my ability.
Enjoy and have a great day!

Love the Hit Man theme, great storytelling. Lots of feeling and energy coming from your photos. Great work. Is that gun real or a replica?

Yes you can see the faint markings, this is how they do it here cause some years ago the unmarked traffic cruisers caused a few accidents and deaths I believe.
So the City puts faint markings on them.
I can spot them easily and so can most folks but it`s funny how some people are simply not aware of their surroundings.
Stay alert and aware.

I too agree with hmirchev.....my take would be to just drop the brightness of the light rays to bring the subject in the background out a little more. Very beautiful and inspiring.

How to clean rubber grip?

Just a little, not a lot. then you let it dry a few minutes. I've had no problems whatsoever doing it. Works great on rubber and synthetics. It is not slippery and it gives it a nice shiny new look. :).....or just use water and brush if you are apprehensive.

I spray a little Armor All on a small piece of microfiber cloth ( not directly on the grip ) and rub it carefully on the rubber grip. Comes out like brand new.

I had an F3, F4s, D40, D90, D300 and lots of glass. Got tired of Nikon with the D600 thing and their refusal to make a high end DX camera. The D7100 is a great camera but the buffer is shallow. Their other DX cameras are nice but they seem to lack something to me. So goodbye Nikon. I switched to Pentax and don't regret it. Pentax is more bang for your buck .

Royal Photo mostly stocks Canikon but they have great service, I'm sure they can order it for you. Good price but don't forget the taxes if you reside in that province.

Yes I've read the forum reviews, is the 10-17 strictly fish eye or can it be used as a very wide angle? I've never had a fish eye before. The Pentax 12-24 is out of my budget range.

Wide angle lens Sigma or Pentax

I recently bought a K 30, which I adore. Now looking to add a wide angle to my kit.
I've read tons of reviews on the Sigma 10-20 f 4 and the Pentax 10-17 f 3.5.
Last year I had a Nikon D 300 with Sigma 10-20 f 4, they performed very well. I sold and switched brands.
I found the Sigma pretty big mounted on the D 300. IQ was great but sometimes lacking in color.
In your honest opinion, which would be better for general shooting, image wise and handling, the Sigma or the Pentax?

Thanks for your replies.

Hi,

I'm brand new here to this wonderful forum. I've been looking and reading everything on this forum for about a month and happy to say I'm very impressed with this site. So I joined up.
Since 2005 I've been using another brand and I got kinda of tired of them, sold body and lenses. Started looking at other brands and Pentax just was for me. I bought a K 30 and an MX-1 point and shoot. For the K 30 I have a DA 50 f 1.8, 18-55 WR and an old Pentax K 50 f 2. Very pleased with this camera. More lenses to come, shopping around.
The other night I was shooting at the Montreal Festival of Lights, it was -25 C outside, wind chill -30 C, very cold. The K 30 never failed.
Added a few pics taken with my K 30. The Montreal Festival of Lights and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Just saying a big Hello/Bonjour from Canada, eh!:)
