Sadly, the replies don't count to your posts for the month. I point this out for information only.

Resampling down

If someone on the forum is blowing up your resized images to more than 100% to view, then I would ignore all comments on those grounds. I resize with PS and accept the default Bicubic Sharpen in CS4 and have no complaints. If forum software subsequently resizes my resized image, I've made myself a hostage to fortune, so observing image size limits is always important.

Beyond that, my head hurts too much...

You'll have to ask the sole survivor, but a combination of ice/snow and rain is hideously slippery. It may have been a domino effect, but it's horribly tragic however it happened.

There are useful spiked attachments* you can put on your hiking boots in such conditions, but I prefer to look on these as aids to get out of trouble, not a means to get into it – rather like taking snow chains in the car during winter.

*no, not crampons, snow & ice cleats

Climb on that altar and you get a long stretch in the Vatican dungeons... I like the impression of the dome rotating and turning the vaulted ceilings adjacent!

Very 1970s and well done you for washing the film thoroughly at the time. I like the composition, there's an impression of "what's through there?" about it and the squint window sash top line matches the model's eye line appealingly.

That's sometimes really annoying, but strangely ignored in many reviews. I'd really like Gitzo's biggest recent ballhead (GH3382QD) which doesn't suffer that way at all, but it costs lots more than I'm prepared to spend right now.

I gave up on 500px quite some time ago, later I got online ads for GuruShots (no connection, just coincidence) and didn't bother looking at it. Thank you all for confirming my apathy, meh.

Good subject, well taken. The arrangement of figure and background works really well and you've got the eye pretty well on the vertical centre line.

Your memory has not failed you, the recipe was mucked about with years ago. Probably took the girders out of it.

(not a joke, I remember that advert!)

Civil engineers build a metalled road with boulders, rocks, stones and gravel although the boulders may be omitted. Astronomers call elements heavier than hydrogen and helium “metals” but I’m sure it’s because the unimaginable distances rot their brains. Land around houses here may be covered in coloured gravel or “rid chips” in local parlance and remodelling the garden involves small to medium sized civil engineering projects which may or may not include boulders. Ah, me; life is a puzzle and the answer isn’t beer.

Remind me, someone, what this thread was about?

I wouldn’t put a 67 on a 3001, no sir, but wouldn’t hesitate with that Induro. It’s rated to 14kg, will be much less liable to wind vibration than the Bogen due to its carbon fibre construction and is lighter as well. I know several photographers who use and are happy with them, so what’s not to like?

Swedes have something called “Lattol”, iirc, which is alcohol-free beer. I never saw the point of that or Coors etc - one has the taste, the other the alcohol. The decision is yours!
