Can't really speak to using Pentax cameras with vintage lenses, but my X-T20 has proven an excellent platform. I use mainly Takumars, but due to the short registration distance, practically any lens can be adapted. In addition to the Takumars, I have vintage lenses in Nikon, Pentax-K and Canon mounts that all work well. The focus peaking is great for when I have time for a slow, deliberate set-up. I focus wide open and then stop down to the aperture I want to use, which practically guarantees I will catch focus. For fast moving grand-kids, I set a high ISO, which the Fuji sensor handles well, and zone focus, like I did back in the Spotmatic days. The shooting controls are well laid out to make adjustments if the shutter speed gets too low. The one drawback is that the settings to tell the camera the focal length for exif purposes are buried deep in the menu stack, which is a pain when I'm jumping from one lens to another. Overall, I would say that I use vintage lenses 75% of the time and the kit Fuji zoom the rest of the time. If I had more native Fuji lenses that ratio would probably change, but I haven't really had the urge to buy any.

Is that Super Takumar 35 bokeh or is it the "Blown Out" double IPA?

Goes to show that it doesn't require an ILC to get interesting bokeh effects.

I don't use my Super Takumar 150mm f/4 often, but it is fun to take it out now and then.

A versatile lens. It's a great focal length for APS-c, and of course we're only using the sweet spot center of the lens on the crop sensor. The close focusing comes in handy, too. The only drawback I see is wavy distortion, but that matters for architectural pictures and not at all for flower shots. Some people might wish it opened up a bit wider for bokeh effects. The best thing is that it has the Takumar colors. Super Takumar 35mm f/3.5.

I came across this exotic shrub while walking in the neighborhood. These little flowers grow in clusters to make a big flower, and there are dozens of big flowers on the shrub. I have no idea what it is, but it has the most delicious scent. SMC Takumar 55mm f/2 on a 20mm extension tube.

A little shrub-like tree, with 2-inch needle sharp thorns, I believe a hawthorn. Its redeeming feature is small, pastel flowers early in the season. SMC Takumar 105mm f/2.8.

Remnants of a four-burner kerosene cookstove at an abandoned homestead in piedmont North Carolina. Until rural electrification came in the years after WWII, most local farm housewives cooked over either kerosene or wood. I knew one old bachelor farmer who cooked over wood until his death in the early 1980s.

1067 was one of 10 SD70ACes Norfolk Southern had painted in "Heritage" schemes to honor its predecessor railroads, in this case the Reading. On a cloudy winter day in filthy paint, the engine looks like it never left the gritty hills of northeastern Pennsylvania coal country. But most NS engines are roamers, and I caught this one in Winston-Salem, NC. The longest lens I had on me was my SMC Takumar 55mm, so this picture is heavily cropped. I think the resulting grain actually adds to it, in this case. If you squint, this could be the last days of the Reading in 1976, on Kodachrome.
