Hi Pentaxians in India, especially in Gurgaon. I will be there for business trip for a week from tomorrow until next Wednesday, so was thinking if can meet up with local Pentaxians there during this weekend. I didn't bring my gears but it would be great to know more Pentaxians and to network. I've been doing freelance photography for a while and you can check out my website here.

Send me a message if you are free to meet up, I am staying in the Leela Kempinski Gurgoan.

You can try Lowepro Computrekker AW. I am using it at the moment, can carry 2 bodies and a couple of lens plus flash, plus a 15" notebook.

Thanks for your comments cupic. Yes no flash was being used. Normally for indoor sports it is not allowed, might blind the players :)

Thanks daacon, the low iso noise on the K20D helped a lot. But it is needed if not the shutter speed will not be enough to freeze the action.

Ole, its a great lens for low light shooting. It works well with AF-C and the hit rate is quite high.

My only gripe is that I wish it was a bit longer. Surrounding me were a lot of C and N press shooters with their 70-200 VR and IS lens, I was with another pentaxian with a K20D + FA80-200 F2.8. I bet a lot of them were suprized to see 2 Pentax camera covering an international sporting event. I wish Pentax will update the FA 80-200 F2.8 to a SDM version.

Couple of years ago I was covering a badminton tournament in a stadium using Canon gears but I have since moved to Pentax. From that 4-day tournament, here is what I learn.

1. You really need a F2.8 lens or faster.
2. Most of the time you will need to shoot at iso 800 and above.
3. Shutter speed 1/320 and above.
4. Lens choice - something with a 70-200mm will be sufficient.
5. Burst mode is necessary, because of the next point.
6. Auto focusing will be a hit and miss situation, for example the pic below, its hard for the camera not to focus on the net instead of the players, since most of the time you will be shooting the players on the other side of the net. Useless you have time to pre-focus most of the shots.

Here are more shots from the event. Good luck !
