I think: let's just wait and see when the first users give their opinion? Like others wrote here i agree: it's guissing without having the cam on hand. Time will tell and if i can affort the upgrade i will upgrade my K-1.

Stay good :-)

Just some tests i did ... K-1, FA135, FA77 and FA*28-70 & Tamron 28-75mm.
Good enough sharpness for me. I was just wondering how good my 'old lenses' are :-) ;-)

Just added them to my photo-map here in my profile and added 1.

+1 here.
I did send mine to repair and while I also had to adjust my Pentax glass for front/back focusing before that, after receiving from repair all Pentax glass I own are spot on without focus adjustment in-camera settings.

Ricoh Open is the name of a tennis tournement starting today here in the Netherlands.

Imagine. Change.

The slogan of the company here.

I can only hope to see some ads for their brand name PENTAX for cameras and binoculars… on the electronic advertising boards.

Who knows :-)

Kind regards
Henk

After a quick test i have the impression that my K-1 is working better than before i sent it to the service center. The "Support plate assy" might be something with the plate that might have been loosen, is what Ricoh-Pentax here in the Netherlands sort of explained to me. It's a guess as they have no contact with the service/repair center they explained to me.

I think i experience a kind of better focussing, maybe. I use the Kenko(Tamron) 15x PzAF Teleplus SHQ with my 50-135mmDA and my Sigma 10-20mm. Works perfect so i can use these for FullFrame pictures: no dark corners etc.. Before, the 50-135 couldn't focus with the Kenko, at all.

Still have to test my lenses for focus accuracy.

B-good :-)

Although... not the exact configuration. My 'poor mans 15-30' is my Kenko(Tamron) 1.5x Pz-AF and my 10-20 F4-5.6EX.

Just put it on my K-1. Works fine FF. Corners ok/no dark corners. Haven't really made testshots to qualify yet.

Anyone knows what "Support plate assy" means?

Thx in advance for your reply

And furthermore, Pentax France communicates ONLY! in french. Even the dutch authorized dealer had problems communicating with them. Nobody! speaks even English at Pentax France repairs.
Well well, to me this is just BAD, VERY BAD.
To get my unrepaired! cam and lens back, I have to pay €125.
Very! BAD!
So I asked my authorized Pentax reseller: is this also the case with other brands? Answer: only! Pentax. Sony, Nikon and Canon has offices in the Netherlands. Never a problem.
In 2004 and before and shortly after, Pentax had their dutch office in Breda here inbthe Netherlands. I even went there with my istD and lenses. Great! service it was.
From when ibwas 18, I used Pentax. 30years long.
Time changes, situations changes and businesses also.
I think is time that I, as a Pentaxian start changing to, I think now.
Brand loyal and promoting as I was, with this experience now, maybe it's time for me to turn my back and invest in another brand?
I just feel forced tobdobso with this BAD! service. I think I have to, don't you???

Well well, this week my cam got stucked to on the M in the dial. Very strange. Anyhow, today i sent it to the shop where i bought it here in the Netherlands to be sent to France. Very! strange.

Also sent my K-01, which was rarely used, in nov 2016. Today i understood that it cost €225 to be fixed. Shutter stucked, i thought. I bought the K-01 for €275 on fathers day, brand new at a Pentax repr. shop. So, no K-01 any more cause i aint paying a repair which is about the new price.

And my biggest confusion. I also sent my 85mmSoft lens cause from f8 on its not sharp as it should be. Here, at Pentax France, they say: we can't fix it cause we
don't have the parts for it.

HELP.
Any one any suggestion here for me???

The file doesn't extract itself in my experience if downloaded straight onto SD card - download onto PC; >EXTRACT on PC< and copy extracted fwdc228b.bin file onto SD card, then it should work

How to manage?
Posted By Sweets

Hi everybody :) ,

Allthough it's said and known that our K-1 can develop better on some points concerning video, yesterday i went to a funeral of a friend and did video shooting.
It was difficult without full-auto focus. Nevertheless, i don't see that as my biggest problem.

What i can't manage is the sound.
I used my small and lightweight Sennheiser PX100 headphone and my Rode stereo video mic pro attached to the K1.

Is there any way to manage the sound in an instance in such a situation? Anybody knows how or a good workaround???

For now i had to dive into the video menu, set the sound to manual etcetcetc..

Now i'm getting some very high overmodulated sound or no sound at all.

I've managed a bit using the sound-knops on the Rode, but, how to manage it on my K1?

Optimal will be if i can hear through my headphone the sound-level and by turning a wheel can change the volume to softer or louder.

Maybe i've missed something so if you know 'how to', please inform me if possible?

Thx in advance.
Rgrds. Henk.

"... the grip is starting to feel 'looser' in my hand, as in there is some play in the grip itself where it meets the camera body.".
It seems like i experience the same here.

Waiting for my 28-105 get back from calibration. Maybe after that i sent my K-1 body.

hi Irzeno,
the k20 has a soft filter one can use after taking the photo.
Mind you however, like all photo software, photoshop and those, in my opinion and experience, what one can do with the softlens untill this day can not be done with software, yes.
So, doing within the k20 (software) is different from what one get with the lens :-)
b-good.
