Thanks Cee Cee! It's a beautiful spot and certainly worth a trip. Triplet falls are located down there; but they difficult to shoot from a good vantage point. The other falls are Beaumont falls which have a longer walk (approx 1.5 km) but are also worth seeing.

This is my entry for round 2.
Located in the amongst the cool temperate rainforests of the Great Otway National Park (Vic, Australia) this is Hopetoun Falls. The falls make an incredible noise and produce a surprising amount of spray and mist, to reach the base of the falls involves a relatively short yet amazing steep walk, however once down there you are greeted by an area which is filled with the most amazingly vibrant green ferns, tree ferns and mosses.

This is a HDR image of the falls taken with my K7 and DA* 16-50 mm. Processed through Photomatix Pro and Photoshop CC.

Landscape Sunset at Princes PIer

Hi Guys,

This is Princes Pier in Port Melbourne (Vic, Australia). Construction of the pier was completed in 1915 and until the late 1960s it served as one of the major entry points into Melbourne for new migrants arriving by ship. The pier was eventually closed in 1990 and in the subsequent years a series of fires damaged the pier and several structures built on it. Then in 2006 restoration work was commenced with the first 200 odd metres of decking being restored and the remaining 400 metres of wooden pylons being preserved.

The night that I was there it was absolutely buzzing with people, they were fishing, there were kids on bikes, a couple of dogs running around, and of course several people trying to take photos. I ended up having to tightly frame the shot so I didn't get fishing rods and people in the edges of the frame. While I was there I was chatting to a guy with a Nikon D800 who ended up not hanging around as thought that the nights sunset was going to be pretty average. I decided to stick it out and try my luck and I'm glad I did!

You're braver than me Sandy for sleeping the huts. I'm happy enough to pitch a tent next to them!

Hi Guys,

I took this one a couple of years ago (i have only recently joined the forum, but have been lurking for ages).
This is Puffing Billy a local steam train that runs through Dandenongs in Melbournes outer east.
I took this one hand held leaning out of one of the carriages as the train sped around a corner.

Thanks for the feedback guys I really appreciate it.

I should have given a little bit more information in the initial post! Sandy was correct it's a photo is of Tawonga Huts in the Alpine National Park.
The image was generated through Photomatix Pro and I agree that some of the highlights are overblown; there are a lot of options in Photomatix and I am still coming to grips with them all.

Hi Guys,

Very long time lurker, but first time poster! I took the shot below a couple of weeks ago in the Alpine National Park (Victoria, Australia) with my K7 and DA* 16-50 mm. Its a 5 image HDR composite, which seemed to turn out ok.

I would really appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

Thanks!
