Your Pet A Day.... (post up!)

I bet it was! That's funny! Our inside kitties don't go outside, ever, so they may have residual memory of rain and wet from their outdoor days (they're all rescues). But the outside gang do get rained on sometimes. They all have dry spots and shelter in our yard and the neighbor's yard. I've seen several of them sitting in the rain, though...not a downpour, but a drizzle. Odd, that, but I've seen several do it. Then they shake it off and get to shelter, eventually.

That's a relief to know! Definitely enjoying the rinse, I can see that! Thanks for educating me. Cats, OTOH, hate mud, and fuss about it a lot during rainy season here. I've not tried to rinse any of them, but I have used towels (mainly paper) to wipe several of them down if they're very wet and muddy. They mostly stay in a dry spot until it's reasonably OK to come out, shaking paws and complaining the whole time.

Well, maybe a casual bouquet for the brunch table, but certainly not for the dinner table! :D

Muddy dogs...does the park offer any sort of rinse-the-mud contrivance? I'm shuddering to think of everyone's car on the way home! (not having a dog and never visiting a dog park, I'm ignorant of the amenities, so to speak :D )

Beautiful! That's true...some hibiscus flowers are enormous! Shame they don't last, though, but a happy plant produces lots and lots of them.

Gorgeous! I have one in my yard, but the flowers aren't that intense of a red, closer to a rose-red. Still beautiful, though. This one is very well captured!

It looks marvelously healthy! Few of them here ever get that dense, alas... unfortunately, here in south Florida they are subject to infestations of mites, and unless one sprays for the little monsters they can (and do) do great damage to the leaves, preventing the tree from forming a full, lush canopy.

Definitely strange, I agree with Mike that it's probably some sort of nightshade, possibly Solanum elaeagnifoliumCommon Names: Silverleaf Nightshade, Purple Nightshade, White Horsenettle, Tomato Weed, Trompillo

Ah, I understood that part, I was just wondering how the villagers got a Viking longboat to sink. Their own boats, I can understand that, but Ragnar's boat?

It's interesting to ponder who sunk it and how they did it (well, how they got hold of it, no real mystery about how to sink a boat) -- was it abandoned by a raiding party? stolen?

Norse influence on the British Isles, and the language, is incredibly interesting.

Thanks, Tony, much appreciated. Just trying to capture the goodies flowering in the yard/garden recently! Actually there are several more, if I can figure out how to capture them, looks like it may involve ladders or somesuch, the plants are way above head level and the flowers higher than that. I can, of course, drag out a longer lens but the angle from below won't be all that good But they're quite lovely so I'll try.

Sorry, sorry, sorry, my friend, I didn't see it! How embarassing!
It's lovely, KD, very well captured! A hybrid phalaenopsis, with lots of buds for flowers to come. Wonderful image!
(am I forgiven? please?)
