Item for Sale
Low shutter count Pentax K-7, 18-55mm AL II, A 50mm 2.0

Asking Price
270.00 USD

Item Location
Boston, MA (United States)

Item Description
Time to unload some of my gears since I recently upgraded.

1. Pentax K-7 camera, in excellent condition. $270
I'm the original owner. Shutter count 3630. Always had screen protectors on both LCD and the top screen (you may see the edge reflection in the picture). All original accessaries (including the little viewfinder cap) and software included (some still in wrap).

2. Pentax 18-55mm AL II lens. $45 Pending
This is the second iteration of the kit lens, a better overall performer than the original. This is the version with a metal mount, quick-shift focus, and includes the hood, all of which are missing in the budget "kit" version. It has the same optical formula as Pentax's current WR standard zoom.

In excellent condition. Hood and both lens caps included.

3. Pentax A 50mm F2.0 lens. $20. Free with purchase of items above.
This is the first manual lens I bought off ebay. Bright and compact. A lot of fun to shoot with while still provides the Aperture priority option. Free with the purchase of K-7 and 18-55mm. No caps included.

When thinking of Bokeh, people naturally think of background. This photo would be the opposite with blurred foreground.

When you open a Film door it resets the shutter count down to 0 right?

That's right. It should reset every time you pull the rewind knob out.

So screwmount(M42) lenses...Is it just my imagination or are they much cheaper?

Generally m42 zoom is cheaper than prime, but much bigger and heavier. Price wise m42 is generally lower compared to modern AF lens, but has steadily in the upswing as more people are interested. I use m42 prime a lot so I just leave the adapter on. It's fun to use these lenses made half a century ago.

I just compared the picture with my K7. The mode dial is indeed different. the K7 has 3 rows of the little spike grooves on the side, and in this picture there are 4.

DA35 f2.4?

I concur. It's the best Pentax can do as a company trying to keep up with other companies' offer, yet still maintain a good profit, considering their already abundant albeit more pricey offerings at 35mm. Sometimes too many is not a good thing as product differentiation becomes difficult (Sony entry DSLRs come to mind).

DA35 f2.4?

I think the key point of making it 2.4 but not any faster is to prevent it from cutting into the profit margin of 31 ltd. Honestly if it were 35mm 1.8 selling for$200 (or even $400), who else here would buy the 31 ltd? And remember the reason FA35 got discontinued yet still sells for premium in the used market?

100 Year old color photographs

Wow, I thought the only color photographs existing at that time would be hand-colored on b&w. Didn't know color photography exist before the invention of color films. I could imagine the people in those photographs had to stay perfectly still for a very long time when plates were changed.
On the other hand, the theory behind this seems surprisingly similar to modern CCD sensor technology.
