1 Evening Music Festival ca 700 pictures 1 Accu - not empty
both mainly without live view

Architectural photos in an old church - mainly tripod and Liveview - ca 400 photos with 2 shoots each (EV-braketing normal and -1EV) 1 Accu not empty

But there are allways two spare accus with me.

Which version of the exiftool are you using, it's working fine with my 28-105, 15-30 and 150-450.
At the moment the actual version is 10.64 - Oct. 17, 2017 look here ExifTool by Phil Harvey

Be carefull, a lot of exif viewers bring there own exiftool.exe with them, you must update the right one or all (I've written a batch because there a 6 copy's of exiftool active on my computer - No i don't search through the programs and find the point where I have to change the path. I've searched the whole disk for exiftool.exe and update all of them with one batch)

DSLR Sensor's resistance to Sun shots

I don't think so, if you can look it with your eyes, you should be able to take a photo. (You wouldn't look in the sun at high noon), If you are using Telelenses to take the sun explicitly, you have to take the same precautions as with a solar eclipse

LED Ring "Flashes"

I think most of them - even the cheap ones - have to modes - a constant light - and a brighter flash mode - in this flash mode the led's gets much more current and are brighter than in the continuous mode. They may be nearly as bright as an Ring-flash LZ 9-14, but the light may be emitted in a longer time than with a normal flash but would fit in in the normal flash time of 1/250 s.

Do you underexpose by default?

That's correct, i think K-3 will do this too.

But I líke to have the +- 5EV Range fully available, and my underexposure setting stored elsewhere as a basic constant. It's something like not to expose to 18% gray but to 25 % gray or ´whatever one might see as optimal..

About what charging is talked about? What will be the difference on the electric charge. Will it be removed by swithing off or on?
It's not a sony. There is a mirror and the closed schutter in front of the sensor.

There are a lot of urban tales around.

The camera gets every lens change without any problems. I had no fault to that type of unknown error. There may be a problem with fully manual lenses, and the SR system. This can be corrected in the menues.

K1 painfully slow to write files to SD.

As far as I know most of these settings are only applied for the jpg Engine.

The only limitation is the slow write speed of the camera. There is no possibility to change this, because of the limitations in the hardware. Any speculations about uhsxx or compact flash are simply stupid. The camera is on the market as it is, there is no hardware change possible. I'l hope that future models will have an improvement there.

At the moment, I think, I will skip the next generation, following the K-1, because everything I need is in. The only improvements I'm interested in, are higher ISO with less noise (above the excellent values of this camera) . I would like a 30 Mpix Sensor mit backlight technology and an improvement of two complete ISO-Steps. (concert photography in very dark arenas)

The K-1 writes with a maximum of 25 to 30 MB/sec to any SDcard in your configuration max 15 MB/sec. She is slower than a K-3 which gets up to 35/40 MB/sec.

K1 SDHC Cards

The K-1 has an maximum write speed of 25-30 MB/sec (yes the K3 was faster with 35 to 40 MB/sec), every card that's has faster write speed will work fine.

I'm using an 128 GB SanDisk Extreme 90 mB/s Card, In my last holiday - I didn't delete the files after copying just for testing the file counting - and 2681 raw files fit on the card. Pentax tells me 1612 files will fit after formatting - I got 66% more on the card than predicted.

My second card ist a Transcend TS128GSDU3E SDXC UHS-I U3

I'm using 128 GB cards, because I got a 64GB cards filled in single sessions in my K3, and I don't want to bother about full cards.
I don't want to drop a card and loose it,
My cards are copied to harddisks immediately after a session, and formatted in the camera afterwards.

Yes the camera says, card is full and you have to change manually to the other card. (There is space for 1.4 pictures with the ricoh estimate) But this is okay. It is better to loose some space, than to loose a picture, because It can't be written.

This wasn't a complaint. it was simple status information about filling up big card and the resulting number of pictures. I have 2681 real pictures taken, the fresh formatted empty card shows 1612 pictures.

I've been on a holiday phototrip, and I kept all pictures on the 128 GB SanDisk Extreme 90 mB/s Card, roundabout 16 month old, normally I copy to a laptop at the evening an formatting the card in the camera - The last step I didn't do this time. And I got filled up until the camera said card full- there are 88.342.538 Bytes of 127 831 375 872 Bytes still free, On the card are seven GPS-logs with 5673 290 Bytes and 2681 pictures with 127 561 078 853 Bytes in 11 directories. this means an average of 47 579 664 Bytes per picture, most of them with an ISO of 250. The last session on the German ZMF with 14319 pictures and 679 216 908 138 bytes in high ISO typically iso 4000 has an average of 48038540 Bytes

Do you use in-camera GPS for travel?

you can remove the gps-information with geosetter or the exif tools.

The accuracy is good but not excellent. Very often when I takes pictures of buildings and look at them in google earth there is quite a constant difference between the picture and the Coordinates - if it would be simple gps inaccuracy, this error should be typically below 10 meters and on a random based -, but the direction is allways excellent. And there is a difference between a landscape shoot, and a architectural photo in a historic city.

In may K-1 it is on all time, therefore every photo has a gps information. During holidays or tours, i switch on gps-log too. I just came back from a 6 day tour with 1500 shots.

Add 1. Pentax ist working very conservative with it's calculations. It is based on the worst possible scenario, otherwise custumor will complain the camera displays 400 photos to be taken, an I get only 398 on my card. Therefore a approch with roundabout 70-80 MB per pictures is correct. Second the camera itself always calculates the free picture numbers bei dividing the free space on the card by the default file size. Therefore you can be really shure, that you will get the numbers shown in the display on yopur card. Typically the posible pictures are (1.5 times the pictures shown in the display even that is conservatively taken. The value is based one measurement done with K20D K5 K3 K1 over the last years) This type of calculation ist no point to complain about in my opinion.

Add 2, t also think that the cards will be switched automatically when one card is full in sequential mode (I don't will test this, because I'm using 128 GB cards, they never got full up to now - maximum was filled by ca 60% with 1400 pictures RAW pictures on a K1)

There isn't any card swap button for recording. This works only in replay mode. The only way to swap cards, is card full or removing the card in use.

Typically you will get 50 zu 70 % more pictures to a card, as the shown number. They ar doing a worst case size estimate, not an typical size estimate. The number ist allway available space divided by worst case file size. it is not unusual, that the counter won't change even if you take a picture.

Batteries in K200D and BG-3 battery grip

The power will always be drawn from that battery, which has the highest voltage during power up - that means both will be empty at the same time. Batterie check is only during power on, when on battery set gets empty during action there is no automatic switch to the other. You have to power down and up again.

I typically have it set to grip first, because these are easier to change, the internal is something like a backup, when the grip get's empty.

I failed with the MHXPRO-3W and a Pentax K-1 with the 150-450. The construction swings. The head is not as good as it looks. It lacks stability. It could be enough for the 15-30 because it is a wide angle.

Canon:
Technische Daten - Canon Deutschland

bis zu 9.600 x 2.400 dpi ( Tintentröpfchen werden in einem Raster von 1/9.600 Zoll platziert. )

Sorry for german: I'll translate

up to 9600x 2400 dpi (droplets are placed in a grid of 1 / 9,600 inches)

The defacto name is dpi and is the definition of the grid to place an amount of droplets in.

May be that you are right in an academic way of definition. But we should work with the "de facto standard" - that most of the people will understand - not with some academic de jure standards (you should be used to, look at feet, inch or Fahrenheit instead of MKSI International Units)
