this is a rather large area of these plants growing "wild" along a walking track, I must have been about 10-15 flitting there way through these, I must have been there for 15min and only came up with 3 usable shots the birds were that busy!
thanks for commenting, cheers

thanks PenPusher, trying to get a lock with the DA55-300 was a bit tricky with the bird flitting around amongst the flowers, but happy with how this one turned out, cheers.

The Red Wattle Bird, so called due to the "red wattles" hanging on each side of its cheeks. ( Wattle is a type of Australian native yellow flowering plant ) There are also Yellow wattle birds

Pentax 20D shutter going off at turning E wheel and Function button

My K20D started doing a few strange things including what you describe with the shutter. It seemed to occur randomly but only when the battery was low ( below 1/2 ) I have 3 batteries so I always changed them before I got to that stage and thus avoided the problem. I don't use the camera much these days but if I do its always with a freshly charged battery. Thinking about it now it occurs to me that it may have been just the one battery of the 3 which was the problem. The reason for relaying this story is to suggest your problem may be due to battery issues. ie the camera becomes unstable due to a high impedance battery (which happens with age). This happens because battery voltage doesn't hold up during high current tansients causing instability in the electronics.
Then again it maybe just a plain old "bug" in the electronics, ie oxidation of connectors, poor solder connection etc.
