Thanks! I am curious about the Raynox on this lens, and the 45-150 (and the Olympus version) are both great options for general work in my experience.

Indeed. In my experience, up to seven days is eminently doable based upon a 10K power pack if you are not doing too much video or sports style AF.
In Japan we did a 7 day hike with no power and I recharged my phone (once, app support only), Garmin in-reach (international text messaging + linked to the phone for tracking and navigation), GR "classic" (twice), Panasonic zs200 (once, also took one spare battery and that actually has good long life) and headlamp (once). I'd take a 15 or 20K power bank these days.

As you say, solar is a bit dodgy (although likely good in southern Europe if in other than winter). And also, you have to carry all of this stuff. The payoff is the scenery, backcountry onsen and lodges.

Ah, now you got me thinking about travel again.

Yes indeed. I'm heartened that they put the XT body on a diet.
Please, a nice compact 35-135 or 50-200 F4 to go with my 23mm so I have a compact hiking set.

Interesting indeed. The XF 27 fujifilm AF is ok, noisy and a bit slow but I would not call it poor. Its just not as instant as the 23mm f2.

If/ when you are able to, get the bivalent booster. Well recommended to lessen potential illness impact (I just got the Moderna version here in Ontario, Canada).
Given Health NZ isn't even looking at doing this until later this year, you may have to wait a while.
Not that it is recommended, but access and effectiveness of treatment regimens have been much improved in the past 12 months.

For reference here (community transmission mainly in the last year and a half), we are in better shape than two years ago, but I know that is cold comfort for those with underlying risks.
Also, based on two years of exposure, the summertime #'s of cases (Ontario population approximately 15 million) have dropped like a rock over here, but are steadily trending up again....definite autumn/ spring impacts and this year the flu is back.

Sadly, I don't think it is going away anytime soon, it's hopefully the impact that is steadily lessening.

it's also like that up here at the moment, our regional and municipal elections are this week (tomorrow actually). I wonder if the fall fair advertising sign is helped or hindered?

All good considerations. Personally, I have had two of the 12-32 lenses need repair as the unlock thread is not secured well to the underlying parts. It is a good lens - I got one each with my GM1 and GM5, and still use it with my GM5.

I use my GM5 and 12-60 with a mirrorless mover 10 (a 5 would do if this is your only lens). You are right, it won't fit in your pocket. For telephoto I take the 35-100 F4-5.6 and both fit comfortably in the 10. I like those bags as they have an in-built raincoat and zip/magnet closure and a belt loop. You're still changing lenses though and not always time/safe to do so.

The only other lens I am also considering is the 12-45 F4 Olympus, which would be a good fit, but it's pricey and heavy. I've also heard mixed things about the 14-150.

I'd echo this. My copy has very good quality at the wide end and either it or the 45mm F1.8 Olympus tend to live on my E-M1 II camera. It's light and the weather sealing seems quite good.

Oh, I see. If you have the TZ100, do you use the pinpoint af focus area and the touch screen to move it? I seem to have pretty good success with that.

Fair enough. Curious, keeper rate low from metering, stabilization or too slow lens? You know you can put these things on a tripod as well? It just seems apples to apples to compare handheld, no?

Thanks! Yeah, If I could have set up a tripod and used pixel shift (which certainly helps for DR) It would have looked a lot nicer, but I am happy enough with the worked raw. Akaroa is a wonderful place to be; I'd like to go back and spend some time there.

Thank you! The area is an old volcanic field that has been drowned by the sea. It's a place I had not seen and I was glad to get there.

I must say I am intrigued. I have the smaller sensor version mini 2, but now looking at whether I should upgrade to the 1" Mini 3. Nice shots.

Finally getting to process some shots. I took the E-M1 II with me and mainly used the 12-60 and 45-175 Lumix lenses. They did very well. This is pushing the limits of dynamic range for Micro 4/3"
