Has anyone used a 105mm 2.8 super takumar on a Nikon F mount?

I wonder why there aren't any screw on infinity correction elements. It is the same principle as a close up lens but corrected for far sight instead of near. I am getting good results with close up lenses (reading glasses) So why not distance glasses for lenses.

I am using My Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 hood for that. It's not that deep. It clamps on. The trouble with rubber hoods is that they will eventually wear out though. There is an Auto-Takumar 35mm 1:2.3 coming in from Japan, currently stacking costs. From 191 euro I am now at 236. Clearing VAT and import duties still to come.... Maybe I should be more patient.

What is this loose ring in the back of my Pentax-M 100mm 2.8 and how do I fix it?

That ring (wide outer one) isn't supposed to be loose. The narrow inner one should move with focus action in the fixed outer ring which sits flush with the mount.

The longer the lens the more focus range you will have on a Nikon F mount. You can probably still use a 50/55 at portrait distances but any of the super wide lenses would become extreme close up.

My month with the Super-Takumar 85mm 1:1.9 pleasantly surprised me. Even tough the copy isn't very pristine (fungus, dust, scratches) and it's focussing helicoid is poorly calibrated (infinity at 5m and CFD 10cm longer) it delivered very well. It also turned out to be a good close up lens paired with a Marumi Achromat dioptre. The grindy focus action it had in the beginning was quickly gone. Now it is just a bit stiff but not so much it will turn the lens out of the m42 adapter.

See you in July

I have three of those. Two because I was looking for a cheap F 35-70mm (first one broke down quickly) can't remember what was attached to the third one....

edit oh now I remember I bought one to actually shoot film with back in 2012. The roll is still in it but the battery ran out :p

That list would shrink considerably when you would sell all lenses you have more than one copy of.

I paid 45 pounds for this one. Not very cheap but still at the lower range for what they are going for. Glass is clear and it moves smoothly and it came with a rear adaptall cap which is pretty rare. It does give you a scare though when you check out the glass because it looks like there is a giant air bubble right in the middle of the rear element. It is the center point of the transparent rear cap...)

A battery for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX07 since the battery that came with it refused to be charged. Luckily it turned out well. The camera is still working. That makes 8 out of the batch of twelve from the box of compacts, with one definitely broken, one Is a film camera which I will leave be and two still to be tested. Having spent (including shipping) €24,58 on the lot €6,49 on this battery and €19,31 om a universal battery charger. (avoided shipping costs by using the pick up point option). (Which landed me a projector lens since I passed a thrift shop on the way there :p)

The name will at least stay on current products. A new name would make the value of the operation a lot less because then you really loose the legacy. TCFKAO would not sell very well.

Sony laptops have all but disappeared from the European market. Maybe they are just focusing on Japan. Not so good news. Private Equity isn't very patient.

There is also the Pentax-m 300mm F4. Same as A without the A-contact. But I wonder when I see the prices the good 300mm lenses go for, it would maybe be a better Ideal to look for a used DA* 300mm F4.
