What's the best available option for 4k video in mirrorless cameras to utilize Pentax legacy lenses? I realize manual focus will be needed.

Sometimes I do think I'm seeing a lot of mediocre photos so if I need a good photo fix I look up MikeSF or LeRolls.

Don't you use the DA 200 on a regular basis? Outdoors, no less? How often are you shooting at 2.8? I don't currently have a 200. If I had a choice between a 200 2.8 and a 200 f4 Macro i would choose the macro in a heartbeat. Maybe if I had a DA 200 with a TC aleady I wouldn't be so quick to switch, but I don't know why you don't think you would use that lens.

The M macro lens is built well. I doubt there is any quality dropoff from the K version.

Nice scene. Some bracketed shots or some dodging & burning would have played well to properly expose the moon.

45 minutes spent with the K10D really makes me appreciate what an amazing camera my K-3 is; from low light indoors, to menu layout and parameter accessibility, to shutter noise, etc...

Just won an auction for K10D with a DA 18-55, 2 batteries, and a battery grip for $150.50. Hope it works out. Excited to see the if I can spot a difference in the CCD vs CMOS.

Thanks for your input everyone. I'm leaning towards the K10D or K20D. There's one I'm eyeballing that looks well taken care of but the seller can't provide a shutter count.

Wanting to get my son a Pentax DSLR for an upcoming class. I have a K-3 and a good handful of lens he can use. I'm unfamiliar with the good and not so good bodies prior to the K-5. If I could find a good K-30, K-50, or K-5 for under $200 I'd grab it, but I'm not seeing any. My question is which of the older bodies I can pick up for around $100 are better than others:

K-7
K-X
K-R
K-20D
K-10D
etc... whatever I'm missing

are any specifically worth avoiding?

What's the lowest sale price it has reached over the past year or so? I feel like I've seen it just under $700. Contemplating whether to wait for that dip again unless it won't be until black friday.

Just get the D-FA 100
It's worth it
Some of my best macros have been with a hodge podge of extension tubes and lens couplers put some legacy glass together, but the setup is so cumbersome I barely use it since getting the D FA 100. It is compact and makes things so easy.

I'll buy it eventually. Why? Full frame advantages for low light noise levels. And a whole new field of view for my existing lenses.

I would find it most useful for animals other than insects. I take a lot of insect macros, often with a 100m coupled to a reversed 50m, sometimes on a set of tubes, which means my front element is damn near on the subject. Many insects are not all the skittesh if they're in a comfortable environment. I think the 200 macro would be awesome for stuff like birds, rabbits, which I find more skittesh and working distance would really help.
