Auto power shut down on the AF 360FGZ

I use 1 trigger and 2 alienbees cybersyncs receivers with the 2 360fgz strobes. Same problem, I have to keep firing them before the battery 3minute shutoff kicks in. Manual say's nothing about disabling it, so does anyone have a workaround?

Hi,
Can this hotshoe adapter work with the pentax 360fgz flash?
I want to use two 360fgz as radio wireless slaves manually.

Thanks

Any thoughts on the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8?

I have the older 18-50mm without the macro and i have no idea what those guys are talking about performance wise. Its sharp sharp sharp and is dead on all the time. It's basically fused to my pentax. No vignetting and no soft spots wide open. Except some softness at 2.8 @18 (which applies to basically any lens in that bracket) .
If i had to do it again, i'd buy it or the new version 100 times before i'd risk going for the pentax 16-50mm (with it's mountain of problems).

Thats annoying. Why dont u try sending it straight to the manufacturer? better off letting them fix it i tihnk. But is it sigma or tokina that made the lens for pentax?

The k200d definitely the upgrade choice for me over the k20d. Although the buffer issue plaguees the k200, its vastly improved and i'm very impressed. So my upgrades for this year will be the k200d for my k100d and 40d for my rebel 350d.
I really hope they change their stance on the buffer though.

I hope so for their sake. They already lost one lens sale when i had to give up the wait and purchase the canon 70-200mm. Good thing i have options :)

What kind of shutter release does pentax use, is it mechanical? I hope they discontinue it. I watched the camera actually shudder on release, while it was on a tripod. And that awful cluk clunk sound scares my dog.

Based on pentax track record, that equates to months. So maybe 2009 b4 pentax rollout LOL LOL

K10d/k100d Radio wireless question

Ok! I had it in slave 2, so I couldnt get the slave to go into ptt mode. But now I dont see any difference between using it like i originally did with the on camera flash. It still acts like a dumb slave. The manual is extremely vague, as if it was written by some alien. Instructions are given in reverse then reverse order again.

What I would like to achieve:
Control mode.
I want shoot control mode. Can i control light intensity on the slave from the camera ext. flash? or Do i have to turn it up and down from the slave?
Master Mode:
How do i control the intensity of the slave and master?

Ok! i got the second flash. But the stupid manual is impossible to follow. I am trying to use the flash in control mode. The wireless flash flashes, but the subject is poorly lit.
I set the channel by mounting both flashes and registering them with the camera.
What is the procedure for Control mode and Master mode please?

I've also heard about the inconsistency with the sigma. I can only suggest sticking with pentax. I have a 360 and i'm getting another 360 to use off flash because its so cheap, compared to the 540. The only issue with the 360 as most have stated is the battery door is frail. But I have'nt heard of anyone breaking it as yet.

Precharged Rechargeables?

Nah! It only charges 2,4,6or8 batteries at a time. I'm sure it does'nt charge them individually. I'll be looking at getting the lacrosse charger since it even comes with low self discharging batteries. And I'll just get the 8 pack of eneloop at the same time.

Do i have to buy the eneloops with its own charger? Or can i use my own. I have a RadioShack 8 battery charger. It takes about 2 hours to charge my Energizers if they r completely depleted. But what i dont know is whether it would be a preferred charger for these new types of batteries (the eneloops)
This is the charger

AF, how do you track it?

Sorry if i sounded a bit harsh. I also have a rebel xt and it displays it on the LCD, but I never use it. l find it easier to use on the pentax, because unlike the canon I can just use the direction buttons. I have to push a button on the canon to go into that mode then the direction buttons, too many hoops to jump through. Maybe its different on the k10d, i have a k100d.

PopPoto's Camera of the Year... Not Pentax

The only thing holding pentax back is its delayed lens rollout. Once all the lens are on the market, pentax will start to own a bigger piece. Image stabilisation is a huge deal for most people, but so is a huge lens lineup. Canon and Nikon will never have built in image stailisation because they invested in it on the lens.
Look at this:
Canon 70-200 f4 $600
Canon 70-200 f4 Image stabilised $1050

And this margin is the same across the entire lens lineup for canon. I have a rebel xt that i got only because i had a need for certain lens that pentax does'nt have available as yet. I use both cameras but I'm a lot happier with the pentax. As for bodies, I prefer to wait a couple of months to get a body cheap. They dont hold their value, period. Better to invest in good glass.

I have the 190xbpro, its light enough to carry everywhere. I'm only 5ft 9" so the height works for me, but its still a little short at times. If your taller go for the 055XPROB, i would'nt get the older 3021pro because the 055 is the newer version in that line. I also use the swing around boom a lot, for macro.
