Question Can't seem to post

Wonderful! The system is meant to be transparent, and there is no fixed list of things that are / are not allowed. In fact, I believe your post has been the first false positive this summer! If you do see a 404 error on a page that should normally work, though, then please be sure not to resubmit the post as outlined in the sticky I linked above.

Please see this thread:
Help: 404 error messages followed by inability to access PF - PentaxForums.com

The most trivial cause is attachment filenames with apostrophes. If that's not the case and nothing obvious stands out, then please send a copy of the post to This post contains hidden content and I will take a look.

Waterfall long exposures and pixel shift.

I don't believe using pixel shift will benefit you at all in this situation (though an initial frame without the water motion could perhaps be used for the rest of the background).

Is there any Pentax film camera body which works with the new lenses?

Check out this compatibility chart:
The Pentax Camera Lens Compatibility Chart

This really only started getting tricky with KAF4, since power is required for focusing on some of these lenses. However, assuming that the focus isn't by wire, then these lenses can be used at wide-open apertures (so, technically the chart is currently wrong about the D FA* 50mm, which has electronic aperture but offers mechanical manual focus).

Poll: What will the new flagship APS-C be called?

I think it's very interesting that the name has not yet been announced. You'd think that for branding reasons, referring to the model by name rather than "upcoming advanced APS-C model" etc would resonate better with prospective customers, especially given the long development timeline.

The price has been flat for a while. However, there have been free grip offers how and then, with an occasional $100 discount. If you're interested in getting the camera, there's no reason to wait IMO.

Adjusting AF Lenses For KP (help please)

It's a bit hard to tell because of the fringing and the angle of the shot, but to me it looks fairly close to being aligned. Stop down a bit in real-world shooting and you should get some pretty good results from the lens!

I don't believe either camera is discontinued. It would be surprising (but not inpossible) to see either get replaced before the flagship.

Yes, it's possible. You need a lens that supports Quick Shift. Most digital lenses, except for the budget series, do support it.

Ricoh Theta V - images not aligned different exposures

If you get the same result in uniform outdoor lighting, this could certainly be a possibility. I'd just double-check that the lighting issues also appear when opening the files on a computer.

Ricoh Theta V - images not aligned different exposures

Have you done any tests outdoors? Also, there have been some firmware updates for the Theta V which improve the stitching, so that might help a bit. However, overall I think it mostly boils down to technique and the limitations of matching the exposure of two images with different lighting (this it harder for the camera if it's already shooting at higher ISOs).

If there is a strong point light source facing one camera but not the other, this may inevitably happen.

The solution is to hold the camera perpendicular to the light source, so that both lenses can see it (e.g., turning the camera 90 degrees counterclockwise in this case). This is especially important when shooting in bright sunlight.

Windows 7/Windows 10
Posted By Adam

Since you already own windows 7, you should be able to upgrade to windows 10 for free. You can go to the windows website to start this process manually.

Windows 7 and 10 are still very similar under the hood. Everything currently installed on your system should continue working after the upgrade, with only a few exceptions. In many cases, you can even get really old software to run. For example, I'm still able to play games originally released for Windows 98...

Everything that came with Microsoft Essentials is now built into Windows 10. The anti-virus is now called Windows Defender, and it's enabled by default.

In that case, you probably won't experience any performance degradation when upgrading. Windows 10 is actually faster than Windows 7 on the same hardware, even though the latter was quite good already.

If you don't already have one, I'd recommend using an SSD for the OS, as this will greatly increase performance.

There are a few things you can do to harden your system against security threats. A lot of threats actually rely on exploiting the user (phishing and malware), so the best thing to do is to think twice before clicking on links or calling phone numbers in suspicious-looking or unexpected e-mails. And definitely don't open any exe files from untrusted sources. Second, make sure the account you normally use on your computer isn't an administrator account. Contrary to popular belief, this doesn't get in the way of normal use. If you need to install something new or make changes to system settings, you can always authenticate as the administrator and apply that change. All it takes is setting up a separate account and a few clicks in the control panel.

Another thing that's worth doing is isolating your IoT devices (smart TVs, Alexa, thermostats, alarm system, etc.) from your home computer network. The easiest way to do this is to enable the guest network in your wi-fi router, and connect all of your IoT devices to that network. If you want to take full control and still be able to access them directly if needed, then you can set up firewall rules using your router, in your PC, or through a proxy server.

UV Protectors?

IMO, UV filters take away from the image quality and should therefore not be used. However, do be sure to always have the lens hood on, as this will protect the front element just was well if you happen to walk into a tree, or if the lens is hit by a projectile.

Pentax DA 16-85mm and DA 35mm f2.4 Focus Ring "Issue?"

Yes, this is normal. AFAIK, because the infinity focus point can vary based on factors such as the ambient temperature, some lenses have noticeable "wiggle room" to support this.
