Really simple answer. PAY @#%!*! ! ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were also 122 children in Virginia who got the wrong does of the vaccine. So now we have at least two incidences of this. In Virginia all they had to do was look at the color on the cap of the bottle. One color for adults and one for children. You cannot make it much more simple than that.

Now we have 14 children in California who got the adult dose of COVID vaccine. Is our health care system really this incompetent? This is not random mistakes but negligence repeated several times in at least two different locations. Hard to place your trust in an industry that screws up like this.

My wife has been driving Subaru's since 2001 or so. Two Foresters and now an Outback. She loves them. I have no complaints about them other than I can never seem to get proper driving position in them which makes them uncomfortable for me on longer trips. I had a similar problem with the 2014 Ford Escape that I drove as a company car. I hated that vehicle. It replaced a Ford Fusion that felt like it was custom fitted for me.

Ours have been fine vehicles. When I got a job that meant that I would be away from home most of the week, I was looking for something for my wife that was reliable and could handle winter driving with no issues. They exceeded my expectations.

112 children in Louden County Virginia given the wrong dose of COVID vaccine. There is no excuse for this other than negligence. The same kind that causes the deaths of between 250,000 and 350,000 people a year in the US. Why cannot the medical industry in the US put proper safety guards in place to prevent incidents like this? Obviously different colored caps on the bottles does not work. There is absolutely no excuse for this. This sort of stuff just gives ammunition to those who are against the COVID vaccines.

The only thing that does not make sense here is that the children were given the adult version and then it states that they were given lower doses than they needed, or is the dosage for children from 5-11 stronger than that given to people 12 and older?

Well, no motorcycle for me but I still miss my Kawasaki S2 350 triple. A lot of fun 50 years ago. BUT.......................................

My 75 pound box arrived yesterday. Inside was an electric bike. It is a Lectric XP2.0. Almost no assembly required. Unpacked it, installed the handlebars, charged the battery and off I went. It is a blast to ride. Can be ridden with ho battery assist. 5 levels of battery assist of just using the throttle. Had a blast with it yesterday. This morning I took it out but it wound up costing me a quite a bit of money. My wife wanted to give it a go. She was grinning from ear to ear when she got back home. So now a step through model is on the way for her.

This past month has been very expensive. One 40 liter electric refrigerator/freezer. One cap for the pickup truck and now two electric bikes. I love spending the kids inheritance.

Well, in the US it is illegal to get any person to divulge their medical history. HIPPA laws either apply or they do not. There are far more deadly diseases than COVID that people are carrying around without divulging what is going on inside them.

I just think that it has gotten to the point where people are just so sick of it all that they are doing a bit of rebelling against it. If you are vaccinated then they are no threat to you so why worry? I am vaccinated and I have just decided to go on with life. Do what you want. I simply do not care anymore. All you can do is take precautions and hope for the best.

Does anyone here remember the Olympic diver Greg Louganis? During the 1988 qualifying dives at the Seoul summer Olympics he hit his head on the platform leading to a bloody wound. His blood spilled into the water too. What he and his coach did not reveal then or to the medical personnel who treated him was the fact that he was HIV positive. Yet he is held as a hero for going on to win a gold medal.

As someone who has personally had measles twice I tend not to agree with the lifelong immunity statement. I can also attest that it hit me hard enough that at age 14, I prayed for death to be relieved of the suffering that the disease can unleash on you. It is not a fun disease to get. Much worse that any bout of influenza that I have ever had.

Plus thanks for the article reference. I have asked the question a few times and this is the first i have seen a reference to a study. I have read that people who have had both the disease and the vaccine may do better against variants. I have read that a study done in Israel suggested that if a patient who has already had COVID has a strong reaction to their first shot they may not need a second one. Whether this is true or not was under study at the time the article was published.

There is more than I am letting on here in my questions, but I pose them with for a good reason.

He stated that he already had the disease. Are the antibodies formed by getting vaccinated any different from the antibodies your body makes when fighting off the disease? Since he already had the disease he is also at higher risk of having a more severe reaction to the vaccines.

Does a person who has had measles have immunity against getting them again? Since getting measles itself or getting a measles vaccination both give you immunity, what word should he have used?

TEASER - If the shipping schedule holds up a 75 pound (34 Kg) box will be arriving at the house on Monday, November 8. My totally off the wall purchase of 2021. But hey, it was a good black Friday deal. Saved $250.

Not photography related.

I know of one case in NY where a woman needed heart valve surgery but it was continually denied. Her surgeon kept pressing for permission to do the surgery but the state board kept denying it as not necessary right up until the woman died.

One of the reasons that hospitals are so crowded right now is that they are trying to clear up the backlog or cases that need to be treated. While elective surgeries are a good percentage of the cases, there are plenty of needed procedures that were denied too,

Just freeze the film. It will be fine for several years that way.

Compared to last year the colors here in western, NY are not that great this year. Warm and wet weather has everything out of whack this year. We have had the fifth wettest October since they started keeping records back in the mid 19th century.

Herd immunity comes from either recovering from the disease or from getting vaccinated. I can believe that since the Amish as a whole are in much better health than the general population the death rate among them was lower. This is not a particularly deadly disease. The problem is that it was designed to spread fast hence you have a much larger number of people sick at the same time.

Bert,

Here is a Tamrac Expedition 5 bag that I have that was given to me by a friend of my wife. She had an old Nikon film camera and a few lenses in it but no longer used it. I stuffed it with two K1's and a few lenses so you can get an idea of the size of it. There are three or 4 more small dividers with it too. The K1 and D FA 150-450 are not attached. if you unzip the cover on the front, it is a full size pouch that would fit a tablet and maybe even a small laptop but I would recommend a little padding.

If you think you can use it, you can have it for free. Let me know.

Thanks for posting the video. The death of Kodachrome hit me pretty hard. Great to see the Kodachrome "minilab" again. Maintaining quality control on the Kodachrome actually needed access to a analytical lab to keep the process in spec. You simply cannot do it at home.

Kodachrome is actually several layers of B&W film separated by filters. Each layer captures one of the three primary colors. During processing, the color pigments are added to the layer. The pigments are much more stable than the dyes used in Ektachrome, Fujichrome. Agfachrome etc. This makes Kodachrome the only true archival color film. If you browse through an antique shop and find some old Kodachrome slides take a look at the colors. I have 50 year old Anscochrome film that has faded to a magenta. My 50 year old Kodachrome slides are still well within spec.

There is a movie on Netflix called Kodachrome. About a road trip to Dwayne's to process a roll of Kodachrome. I was really hoping that they would show the Kodachrome processor as I worked on those as a Service Engineer early in their development. Loved to movie but they did not show the processor.

I know one person who got the disease and got over it. His doctor told him that he does not need the vaccination because he already has COVID antibodies in his system. Why should he be subjected to an arbitrary government or private sector mandate? On top of that there is research that shows that those people who already have COVID antibodies have a greater risk of an adverse reaction to the vaccine.

Do we have the right to force a vaccination on him?

Was his doctor lying to him?

How long does natural immunity last?

How long does artificially induced immunity last?

Should a doctor's note exempt him from the vaccine mandates?

I do think that those people who have had the disease and recovered should be counted among the vaccinated until there is definite medical research saying otherwise.

Here is a link to an article published last month by Gallup. Full of numbers that show unvaccinated people right on some things and vaccinated people right on others. On some issues democrats are more accurate and on some republican are more accurate. Interesting stuff here including mentioning a study by medical scholars that booster shots are not needed at this time. In any event, an interesting read.

A girl down the street from us owned a horse. It got out one day and I followed it for over a mile while trying to grab it. It was finally nabbed by another guy so I took the bridle and was walking it home. All the way back to it's stall it kept trying to step on my foot. Managed to do it a few times too.

Not a stealership thing. Actually done to save the customer some money. If the engine had gone a long way without an oil change and the oil was full of sludge, it was used to help clear out the system before putting new oil in. In severe cases kerosene was used instead. Drain sludge. then change the oil filter filter, install the flushing oil or even kerosene and run the car until the engine warmed up. Then drain the oil/kerosene and see how it looked. May take a few cycles in severe cases. A lot of this predates adding detergents to motor oil. Kind of surprises me that you never heard of this.

Mamiya-Sekor 1000DTL and Pentax lenses

My first SLR was a Mamiya/Sekor 500 DTL. I loved the little spot metering area in the center bottom of viewfinder. You could meter multiple areas of the scene and and do a quick mental exercise to get the exposure you needed for the results you wanted. I never figured out why the Pentax "SPOT"matic did not have spot metering capabilities. My second SLR was a Spotmatic II and in a few ways I found it inferior the my 500DTL.

DTL stands for "Dual Through the Lens" metering. It had both spot and averaging metering capability.

It is a very capable camera.

Well I have decided to steer us back to the world of computing. Below is a video showing the restoration of an International Business Machine (IBM) Computing Cheese Cutter. An absolutely ingenious device. Start to see the condition and then skip to the 41 minute mark or so to see it in operation if you do not have time to watch the complete restoration process.
