So I got a LensAlign tool this past week and adjusted my cameras for my lens (the new k7 was pretty much spot on).

I wanted to retake the shot and get it right this time. So here's the portrait redo:

It's a little tough to tell with the small size. But here's a crop:

I think it's much better that the first one that was pretty much soft all over. I'm happier with the results.

I just got my K7 in from amazon. I openend it up to check it out. There's no protective screen on the LCD. And there were fingerprints on it.... (not sure if they're mine or not.

Is the K7 supposed to come with one of those plastic film protectors for the lcd?

Thanks all!

My wife and I went out to the beach this past weekend. Got this shot that I liked the looks of. Taken with the k10d f4.5 1/90 and the Sigma 18-50 2.8 at 23mm.

It's a DA* 55. I'm going to do some lens testing this coming weekend. Pretty much every shot I've looked at from this weekedn has a bit of FF.

I hope that's what it is... Otherwise I may be back for some focusing tips :)

I wish it were too. I was having a bit of trouble with the lens on my k10d. Still not sure if it's me or the lens...

Here's one of my first pictures with my new 55 DA*. I'm really liking the lens a lot. I'm still trying to get my focus perfect. I really do like this shot though. Taken at the park today, my wife was gracious enough to model for me once again :)

I'm getting ready to order mine shortly...

Is this something that's happening with everyone? Or are there a lot of them that are perfect and we're only hearing of the bad ones?

(here's hoping it's the latter)

If you had asked me a year ago I would have said yes. Now that windows 7 is out and I've been running it since beta...

My mind has been changed. I still have my imac, and I love it. But I built this PC for 1/3 the cost of a new imac and it's got the same specs. If I time both of my machines starting up as well as running processes in CS4 the PC is winning hands down.

If windows 7 stays stable and quick, I can't see spending the extra money on the "Apple Tax"

When I was at the road show last month I was told by a pentax sales guy that "October will be a great time to buy a K7 *wink*"

Take that however you want to. I've got my money set aside. We'll see what happens in october.

Been using Pentax since my dad game me his old k1000 when I was in high school. I had one judgment mishap with a rebel 2000. But I quickly came to my senses.

I'd be up for something like this. I'm down near the naples area, so Tampa and south would be cool by me.

There were about 20 or so people at the Miami stop. Seemed to be a pretty good turnout.

Just got back from the Miami stop. Didn't win the camera, but had a great time talking with Kerrick James and Pat Ryan.

The K7 is amazing, I had a lot of fun trying it out. Just gotta save up for it now.

Nice to see more people from the same area. We should get together at one of the preserves for a photo outing.

Harmon photo used to have a huge store but they moved to a tiny little area. I went in to look for lenses at one point. He's got a couple of manual K mounts in the case on the left side of the store. I told him I was using a Pentax k10d and he seemed surprised. Guess he's not a fan.

Kicking up some dust can help though. Just don't get any in your camera.
