Dont forget to empty the trash afterwards or you will never free up space.
I use picasa and lightroom on my mac. Work flow is easy and the pics end up in google cloud so they are in at least 3 places.

Personally I prefer the fist picture.
The darkness of the barn really adds to the feeling of cold and desolate.

I really like this style of photography.
The picture draws you into the light and leaves exploring the hard to see areas.
To me its one of those pictures that you see something new every time you look at it. The depth of shadow and texture on the back wall are wonderful and the picture really give the sense of and old barn falling apart.
Great shot

This is my first photo that I am really happy with and willing to be critiqued.
My new born sons feet being held by his mother.
Playing with my 50mm prime had to increase the iso to get the shot and keep a reasonable shutter speed. But the light through the window looked great.

Just to follow up on this thread. I bought the rf-604 which works perfectly with the yn-560 III (you must have the yn-560 on Channel 16) and the k-30.
Just thought I would update this for anyone else thinking of buying one.
A big thank you for everyone's help

Just thought I would jump on this thread as someone who is a complete beginner.
I bought the Yongnuo rf-603 III 2.4ghz after to many hours of looking at flashes. I spent a few hours looking at the 101 blog and watching youtube clips on manual flashes before mine turned up and I have been very happy with the results so far. There is still a long way to go in leaning what to set things to and placing of the flash but its great fun. I also could not afford the TTL flashes.
I usually have to stop after an hour of playing or so, because everyone is sick of the flash going off :)
My thoughts are if your happy to spend the time learning manual flash then its fine. Just dont expect to get great results without putting the time into learning it... I got it as a winter (learn flash/lighting) project as its dark at 3pm and gives me some playing in the evenings.
Hope this helps.
EDIT; Just realised that this is in the k5 section. I cannot comment on the compatibility with the hardware as I am using it on the k30. I just wanted to add a beginners perspective.

I really like the top picture (sunset).
Not an expert so cannot really offer anything :) just to say the slant on the horizon line is the only distracting thing (in my amateur opinion)... Love the dock leading the eye into the sunset... beautiful picture.

Never tried the live view. Just using VF and MF
The moss pic i was just trying to focus on the stick/bud/leaf thing and leave everything else out. The grass pic was done the same way, just trying to focus on one bit of grass. Is this not the correct way?

Thank you all
Well I saved myself some money on the camera with kit lens so I can always use that with the misses :)
I managed to take over 260 photos on a day out today (wood carving show and walking the dog) and managed to get some really nice pics (mostly in auto mode :)) The speed of the shots is incredible (coming from a point and shoot) and the colour and detail in some of the shots is amazing. Loving it.

Hello everyone
Just made the plunge into the slr world with my new k-30 camera.
After reading to many reviews on cameras in the last few days decided to pop out and try them out in my hand with no intention on buying one......:)
Anyway saw the last k-30 in the shop (discounted to clear) and could not resist.
So £300 lighter and a manual that seems to be in another language :p (shutter speed, AF) I am a happy owner of the k-30.
Looking forward to taking photos and the steep learning curve.
