Interesting - it seems that they made accommodations to the pentaprism housing to not interfere with lenses... many remember the issue with the K-1 and the bigger Sigma lenses. Sigma ended up footin the bill to repair the scratch on the K-1 and also modify the bulky lenses. It's good to see that Pentax listened and learned from that experience and made the necessary improvements not to do the same with the K-3 III, even though Sigma doesn't make K-Mount available in their newest lenses. Good work Ricoh!

Pentax K1-II with DA 560mm Vignetting

I think the DA 560 was designed for asp-c sensors... but it's capable of working acceptably well on a FF body (with mild vignetting).

DA = Digital APS-C
D-FA = Digital Full frame

And I think the more stopped down the aperture, the less vignetting usually occurs...

Hypothetically, no... I guess.
But you need to consider the media of which your imagery will regularly get consumed.
Taking ultra high res photos does not improve image quality compared to a regular res photo when only viewed on small scale media, say a smartphone screen. So a diminishing return can be quickly realized and providing more and more res would be useless.
However, are you saying print media could be of any size so hypothetically there would never be a diminishing return (wall of a room! side of a building! seen from space!)?

Am I nuts for wanting manual focus primes?

entirely depends on what I am shooting.
I sometimes depend on AF as the subject is moving way too quickly for me to focus upon.
Sometimes manual focus is easier and can be more rewarding during the process.

I'll take this moment to mention that I am still really hoping to see Theta Z1 versions of a waterproof housing and 3D microphone attachment such as those available for the Theta V.

When I bought my K-70 not a couple months ago, in Alberta, Canada, I had to wait like 3 weeks for the thing to arrive.
I could have bought a K-70 with the kit lens immediately, but I had no need to the lens and it was much more expensive together.
Buying just the body required a special order and it took forever...
Well worth the wait.

My special order Theta Z1, not too long ago, took forever too...

the major barrier to entry for me is the hardware require to run 4K half decently.
A 4K monitor with an IPS panel pushing >60 Hz is still quite expensive.
a 1080p IPS can go to 144 hz relatively easily and the work space on a 24" screen sitting 2 feet away is more than workable.

I've been interested in the Topaz products, but the price for a single app that I can come close enough to with LR or PS... I haven't bit the bullet on Topaz.

Interesting use case :)
I guess for me, my images didn't need as much rescuing to necessitate the purchase of Topaz.
Maybe one day..

I don't know why, it just seems empty to me :P
Wouldn't it be less bulky/costly to just put those modes on a button and one could cycle through and observe the mode from the top/rear LCD?
Sorta like the AF Mode button on the side of the camera...

Could we expect more than three options for that top dial?
Photo
Live View
Video

I feel like it's a dial that could have been a button.
Seems like wasted space.

Any chance there could be more options upon release?

---------- Post added 11-17-20 at 12:21 PM ----------

At least the video option is not on the power switch... looking at you K-70.
