These look really nice!

I'm glad that setting works well with the KP, I wish it worked as well in my K-3 as it does in my K-S1 and K-50.

Ok then... ordered a K&F Concept K to m4/3 adaptor. Had a re-read, and a look around teh interwebz (which were often unhelpful, but I did find one video of a guy showing the aperture of his Nikon lens opening and closing with the Nikon version of the adaptor).

So. Well see. Id quite like to try my other non-aperture ring Pentax lenses on my old Lumix, so itll be fun.

Don't be shy about posting your images in the appropriate daily thread; it's nice to have the full challenge catalogued.

If you do though, for the sake of my OCD try to remember to update the oldest thread first, so some sort of order is retained :D

AF fine adjustment didn't change on my KP, but I'll probably check if any lenses need their AF tuning adjusted.

The Dot Tune method is pretty quick.

It doesn't sound like the K-3 III has a separate dedicated focusing module (I believe the D500 does), so perhaps these AF features are indeed possible with a firmware update (?)

Edit was checking shutter and stats when the former msg was posted. Just checked my ks2 shutter count from around the time if failed. Not exact time but within a month. 28630. I shoot regularly. Average of about 15/day over 5 years, rarely over 100/day rarely 0/day. Longest left alone was 10 days years ago, 3 or more days maybe 10 times.
I would guess 95% of cameras are left sitting which would mean 95% correlation but not causation. If you had 100 broken you would expect 5 with high shutter count. If you only had 2 how high is the confidence level if 95-5%? If it was 5-95% it is high. How high is the confidence level on how the population uses cameras? How biased are the reported data points? There are a lot of guesses going in

Allright... this thread has heated up too much. All those involved in what has now become an argument please take a day off from this thread so it cools down.

And really I'm not interested in who started it, or why, or who responded how. Plenty of problems here on multiple parties' parts. The rule to follow on the forums is: don't give offense, and if offended walk away.

I realize Cerebrum has corrected his statement to 15,000 but, out of curiosity, what is the "statistical value" of your declaration of "1500 shots are not plenty of use!"? Do you happen to have a link to a resource that quantifies "plenty"?
What are the statistics on that?

No pressure. I can shoot my hobby gear even with fish eye

Plastic fifty was my first prime. So much better than 18-135 that I didn't want to use zoom anymore. Practically shot few Italian vacation with 50mm only. F/M 50/1.7 is even better thought IMHO.

The KP seems to have been discontinued

Just anecdotally, for sure, but I've been seeing a lot more love around here for the KP than when it was issued -maybe, as suggested above, there was a mismatch between what it cost to produce and what people were prepared to pay and that's been addressed by price drops, but a lot was to do also with it being not what people wanted as a replacement to the K-3 - it's simply a different type of camera.

Now, it looks to me to fit into the Pentax fold much better than the K-70, which is really just an old-fashioned entry level (though a higher entry point than some) and won't have the distinctive niche the KP does in the line-up.If they can't afford to make it at the price people are prepared to pay, that would, of course be a problem, but I'd rather see a KPii and drop the K-70

Good thing is that this sorta takes care of itself..... soon I'll most likely not be recalling that I can't remember. This can be annoying to those you live with off course..... but that is why our hearing is designed to go at about the same time.

Thank goodness digital photography is completely metric otherwise we'd be having this never ending equivalency discussion about 19/32" is more like a 7/8" on a 59/64" sensor. :D
