Hi everyone,

I really should have introduce myself in this section at the first place instead of sneaking around on the Marketplace section, but that's what happened . I've been sneaking in Marketplace for almost six months ('til now :D).

Basically, I am Indonesian, but currently studying at Deakin undertaking my Master of IT. My first SLR was 350D, then I grab Pentax a year after when there was a Digital Expo in Indonesia. I grab K10D that time and it become my first Pentax DSLR, I am not sure about the reason why I chose Pentax, I just love it and I think our relation now is more than love .

I like taking landscape and portrait (specially candid shots :)), but my interest is not only limited on those type of shots, I want to learn more and more and want to love Pentax more and more

Cheers!

(Sorry for my bad English :))

Yeap...you're right. Cleaned already, bit surprise when I saw the pictures though :-)

For the #1 picture, I admit that it is really plain and flat...I was trying to find my Gorillapod, but couldn't find it until I got home :-( what a pain. So I was using my "gigantic" tripod instead, very difficult to find the angle with that. There it goes, a plain shot :-(

for framing, I think I really need more pratice in understanding this :D came from landscape photography where framing is much easier I think :D

Thanks Ash.

Hi Everyone,

Now I want to show you two shots I just took this afternoon. From my previous post here, I've tried several tips from them, e.g using flash, tripods, expose more on the background, and enhance colour a bit.

So, now I want to see whethere there are improvements on my Macro shots . I will attach small res pictures on this post and if you want to see the full size image, please click on these links:

I really really appreciate your time and critiques on my works. Thanks a bunch, Merry Christmas and happy new year for you all. Wish you all the best for next year.

Regards,
Ito

Thanks a lot for the advice...

It seems as many other shots I did, really happening in Macro...more and more patience...will try to have that kind of patience from now on :-).

For the picture you mentioned first, I was thinking the same way as well. First time I saw the shot result, I was like "Hey, where is the structure of the bud?".

The second picture you mentioned, it was really a random shot, never thought that someone will like it :-) It was on my home, I saw this wild grass beside the footpath. The wind blew so strong that time, so I decide to hold the bottom part. The top parts moves a lot, then I tried to do panning shot on macro object :D.

So..I guess you're right, do not really need a tripod...Thanks..

I know, but I am not sure which one should I attach :-(. Yes they are, since the camera is hand-held and the wind was blew too fast :-(. The weather really froze my hand :-)

Thanks. I will keep that in mind.

Thanks. I'm on way on getting KatzEye for both my K10D and K7 :-). Hopefully will get them after new year as I also have several manual lenses that I'd love to keep. I'd like to read them, but at the first place I thought it's good for practice first, get critiqued and then learn from the flaws :-)

Yes it does, I've tried to manually focus and turn the clamp on, do that "dancing" so I can get the focus, but still cant get it. Should I really use a tripod on shooting Macro?

Thanks Barbara. I highly appreciate your help if you can mark on which pictures that need more DOF. Thanks again

I just wanted to know your opinions/critiques about the Macro shots I took recently as I really new on shooting macro. I can't really get the essence of Macro shooting. I've tried to ask several friends and they said all of the pictures taken are good enough. Feels like I can't get the pure 1:1 size.

So I found this photo critique forum, so I decide to post the link of the photos here. Please, spare your time and help me with your most critiques comments. It really help me. Thanks:)

P.S: Cant attach pictures here...too many I think :-)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sigma 12-24mm for K7 Body

Asking Price
Was: AUD 850
New Price: AUD 750

Item Location
Melbourne, Australia

Item Description
I wanted to trade or sell my Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 DG. I bought it last year from a store in Sydney.

There is no scratch, fungus, mold, dust that I can see on the glass or inside the glass, but feel free to inspect (in Melbourne). I really rarely use this lens, I bought because I thought I need a wide zoom lens, but I didn't :(.

The lens comes with the original soft case, box, hood, front + rear caps, warranty card and manual. I will include Hoya UV filter 82mm and Hoya CPL filter 82mm.

I would like to trade with K7 body. I am expecting that the shutter actuation of the camera is less than 8,000 and everything should functions as it should. Also, it will be great if the camera comes with everything like you bought it (e.g cables, manuals, box, etc).

I value the lens and the filters for $750AUD OBO. I am actually uploaded pictures of the lens on my Flickr when I was trying to sell it else where. But I think they are not good enough to represent good lens :-)

Thanks for looking

Update:
Attach new pictures (taken this morning), but haven't took pictures for the filters though. Price drop and still looking for K-7 body. Thanks

how bout Pentax 17-70mm or Sigma 17-70mm.

I used to have Sigma 17-70mm (non OS version). It is a good walkaround lens. love it a lot, but have to sell it. Market price around $200-$250 second hand, new one around $400 (I think :D).

Or probably FA 28-70AL f/4, it's also good. I use it on my Z1 :-)

It's probably the temperature affecting the AF. Check the K5 and the lens manual for suggested working temperature.

I ever had this problem as well when I went for vacation to Mt. Buller, Victoria.

It's not only camera or lens, any electronic devices has temperature limit.
