those look good to me but what you describe could be caused by the heat (kind of a mirage effect)

I think I've tried all of those except for the 135/1.8 (sad :( ) and I didn't dislike any of them. Probably the 135 3.5 is the least desirable one and the 100 2.8 macro the nicest (again, not taking the 1.8 into account). There are lots of 100 and 105 macros by other brands that are very good too.

auto takumar 1.8 and 1.9 are/can be zebra. That 1.4 has been polished. Sad that it is being advertised as "very rare"

I would give the 400 a try and see if you need more reach, AF or the versatility of a zoom lens
