Thanks for the comments. I was trying my best to take the picture unnoticed, but, due to the low light in the cafe, my k1 fire up its bright green led focus beam.

I thought I was busted, but remained calm, fired off a few shots and finished my coffee.

A retro scene from a cafe in eastern WA wheat country.

Note the belt and suspenders, and chain attached to his wallet. Seems to like extra safety.

I shot this the other day while camping near Mt. Rainier. This image was taken around 4:30 or 5:00 am. The rest of the was foggy; sometimes it pays to be an early riser.

I had the same problem and tightened the 4 screws, after adding a small dab of locktight to each one. Those screws sure are tiny for such an important job..

Good advice from others here. But don't miss out on the fun involved in buying, trying, and selling lots of lenses over the course of time. The marketplace section of this forum is a great place to do this.

Thanks everyone. I imagine wanting to use some neutral density filters at some point. It already acts like it has a,poparizer filter with its rich saturation.

Maybe down the road, but I am getting alomg fine for now.

This bridge was built to haul logs during the hey day of timber cutting on western WA. Logging has slowed down and there are lots of roads now for log trucks. Train is no longer needed.

This is quite dangerous but people still walk out on it for a cheap thrill and a great view.[COLOR="Silver"]

Looking down from a railroad trestle at the forest below, with my DFA 15-30.

I'm surprised I don't see more K1 owners posting images from this lens. It is a bit large to haul around, but it can pull off some amazing stuff.

Took a hike to an abandoned railroad trestle today. Here are a couple of images.

I am amazed at how sharp this lens can be; but when viewed in the PF site, it looses much of it's pop.

Hi GoatsNDonkey - Thanks so much for putting some words and structure to what I was thinking as I took this shot. You are right. This is more of a project than one image.

I'm am going to give it some thought and see where it goes.

Thanks again for your thoughtful comments.

Item for Sale
PENTAX SMCP-FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited Series Lens

Asking Price
500.00 USD

Item Location
Olympia WA (United States)

Item Description
I am reluctantly selling the last of my 3 amigos.

With my new K1, I am transitioning to high quality zooms as zooms better suite my kind of photography. As a photo hobbyist with lots of other family obligations, I simply can't afford to have multiple lenses of the same focal length.

I bought this lens from a PF member a couple of years ago and it has performed flawlessly. It shows only negligible exterior signs of use with tiny rub marks and dings on the barrel and mostly the lens cap. These are visible on the images below. The glass is pristine and the lens functions as it should. This amigo performs perfectly, is amazingly sharp, and full of pixie dust. Assembled in Vietnam.

I am selling it for $500.00; this lens sells new on B & H for $769.00. This is a great deal for someone that wants to enjoy this Pentax legend without paying top dollar for a brand new lens.

It comes with 2 caps and the original box and leather pouch.

I am a frequent poster on this forum and have excellent ratings on all my past sales and purchases. I take excellent care of my equipment and am sure you will be pleased.

I will pay shipping costs within continental USA.

Adios amigos . . .

Thanks. Great ideas. I will go back to the barn and reshoot it in better light. Also will check the plumb on the poles. This thing was quite old and what may look like lens distortion may actually be the barn ready to collapse.

Thanks again. It is also helpful to hear from others on these.

DFA 15-30. I am really liking this lens the more I use it and see the amazing details it captures during processing

---------- Post added 06-26-16 at 10:03 PM ----------

Wow Kamps. You are doing some very nice work with the 15 - 30.

I have had one for a couple weeks but am just now getting to put it to use. It is a very fun lens, and, paired with the K1, can capture some amazing images.

Keep it up.
