Indeed, and for the most part, it is not the megapixels that makes a camera, but the combination of the UI, the responsiveness and the transportability of the camera. And for the vast majority of photographers, having a camera that has >100Mp to allow for a panoramic photo in one single exposure is superfluous. The "nice to have" feature that is not value for money is unlikely going to be enough of a differentiating factor that makes a good camera sell.

As we all know, there’s more to photography than megapixels and the real question is how many do we really need?
What are we doing with the images that we require such resolution?

It is the versatility of a lens that gives it its worth. What good is a lens that has excellent IQ at f/8 but is not good enough for the photographer at f/2.8 when it is needed to be used at that aperture? A D-FA 50/1.4 shot at f/1.4 will be much more appealing/usable than the same scene using the FA 50/1.4, and so it's up to the photographer to determine the investment cost/benefit of each lens.
The law of diminishing returns will eventually apply when comparing two already great lenses, though. The FA Ltds vs. HD-FA Ltds will no doubt be the subject of many a thread once the HD-FAs are released...

Welcome from another Aussie.
I went through the K-x at one stage. It was pretty novel at the time of release, having live view.
Enjoy the forum.

Beyond the focusing and choice of aperture for any one given image, sharpness is an aspect with variable degrees of appreciation by the viewer, including the photographer. To a point, the image’s subject much be sharp enough where it needs to be to render it pleasingly enough to the viewer. Most lenses can manage that. Pixel-peepers or people who just appreciate attention to detail like me look for more subject sharpness than what is “just good enough”. But it is the entire image that makes it what it is: colour contrast, lighting, subject matter, etc. Sharpness above and beyond that basic level of detail is the icing on the cake that makes an image as great as it can be.

There's no question the larger the format, the more "information" can be gathered all else being equal (lens, sensor type, etc).
The real question is if it is sufficient for our needs.
For some, APS-C suffices, others want a larger viewfinder and the flexibility to print larger or crop heavier.
The topic here is the lens and what it can do on FF vs APS-C, and it's clear that most of the APS-C designed lenses do have limitations on FF due to the image circle, especially zooms. But we already have plenty of experience as to which APS-C designed lenses can still manage to cover the FF sensor without appreciable degradation of image quality throughout the captured canvas. It was hard for me to even believe there was this concern with FA Limited lenses and whether their IQ would be maintained on FF digital, given the advances on sensor quality. It turns out their images are still hard to beat, even with the likes of the DFA 50/1.4 and DFA 85/1.4

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Tamron Full Frame Zoom kit: 28-75/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 Asking Price
900.00 AUD Item Location
Toowoomba, Queensland (Australia) Item Description
Time to move these stellar lenses on after a decade of amazing photography from them.
I'm investing into D-FA and FA counterparts, and so these will see no further use from me.
But they have produced amazing results.
See descriptions below:
1. Tamron 28-75 in K-mount $200
I bought this lens brand new from Adorama. It is a sharp copy.
This is a fully-functional lens that has one significant defect that does not affect image quality or focusing accuracy.
It was dropped from waist height landing on the lens protector it had on it, shattering the protector and preserving the lens itself apart from this one defect. Hard to demonstrate photographically, the front filter thread did split apart from the main body of the lens along a crack line that was subsequently glued together. It has kept everything about the lens functioning just the same, but I would advise against trying on another filter due to the risk of this plastic rim breaking off. No fungus, no significant dust apart from what would be expected
But the photos it continues to produce speak for themselves.
2. Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 in K-mount $700
I also bought this lens new from Adorama.
It has been so well taken care of, you would be hard pressed to find anything about it that would differentiate it from a new lens. It has negligible dust internally, has no marks on its body or glass, and has no fungus or haze anywhere. Hence the asking price. It is certainly worth it given this is a sharp copy. Example photos are also below for reference. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Good to have you on board. The K-01 has a special place in the Pentax genealogy for good reason; it'll give you a lifetime of great photography in a relatively compact package. Welcome and enjoy the forum.

You've made the decision to pick up the 20-40, which on APS-C format is not a bad choice for street photography, but the 50-135 would be just brilliant for portraits.
