You have nothing to lose in taking it apart, it won't fit any Pentax. There are tutorials with photo's regarding dismantling somewhere on this forum.
Try putting Pentax lens disassembly database into the search box.

I have the F50 1.7 and it is fitted with a cheap Chinese metal screw on lens hood marked "for telephoto----", it is about 54mm bore, and 35mm long. No vignetting on apsc, maybe on FF.

With this lens break my K-1?

I would think that the damage was caused when the lens was dropped when it wasn't attached to the camera.

Latest Pentax patent for a "Tilting Sensor"

Wouldn't the tilt give very uneven lighting from side to side due to the limited angle of acceptance of the micro lenses in the sensor array? Or would firmware linked to the sensor angle take care of the differences?

K-3ii Memory card compartment

Look down both slots using a torch, if both are unobstructed and there is no loose material at the bottom of the suspect one you will probably be ok. Having two slots makes comparison easier.

K-3ii Memory card compartment

I've looked in the slots of my K3II and they look different. Not faulty, but slot 1 has a reflection visible that is not present in slot 2.
I shone a torch into both slots and they are not obstructed, and the same width. If your cards fit in each slot you are probably good to go.

Pentax K100D Super, unable to increase shutter speed passed 30 Manually.

The K100D which is the immediate predecessor of yours often had problems with battery voltage. Mine which I bought new in 2006 would never run for long with rechargeable's, and only likes Energiser Lithium's, which have a new voltage of 1.7.

I have just this minute swopped the standard MF-60 in the K3-II with the ML-60 in the K5. Everything is hunky dory.

I was disappointed to find that the list of accessories included in earlier models handbooks is missing from the K3-II book. As mentioned, the AF Divided Matte ML-60 for the K7 and K5 series also fits the K3 series.
I have this screen fitted to my K5 and will be swapping it with my K3-II's one sometime.

If you have the handbook, look in the optional accessories near the back, there should be a choice of four.

AF Frame Matte MF-60

AF Divided Matte ML-60

AF Scale Matte MI-60

Plain Matte ME-60

I prefer the ML-60. If you get a genuine Pentax one, it comes with the proper tweezers.

Upgrade for K10D and K20D

K5's being a discontinued model can be picked up for 1/3 of the newer model prices. Not many extra pixels over the K20, but the much lower noise at, say 3200 is a great bonus. K5 noise at high iso's is probably better than the K3 series.

"To infinity and beyond", another Toy story fan.
Back in the 70's, I bought a Yashica tl electro with a 50mm 1.9 lens. The lens had been assembled with the multi start focussing helix in the wrong position. As I recall, it would not reach infinity.

There is a firm in the UK , Camera Instruction Manuals. High Quality Printed Manuals which may be able to help. I have had a couple of manuals from them in the past, a diy effort could end up like an old fashioned phone book.

The T mounts that I have are held on to the lens with three equally spaced grub screws in the knurled part. You unscrew them a few turns and the mount detaches from the lens. The lens end of the mount is a dovetailed groove.

55-300 DA problem

I always fit the rear cap as soon as the lens is removed from the camera just in case something gets inside, and don't leave a body laying about without a body cap or lens in place.
If you can, get an expert opinion from a lens repairer as to what your next move is.

55-300 DA problem

I cannot open the picture, if one was posted, so I'll have to guess what the problem is.
The lens is only sealed when it is on the camera.
If the lens is removed from the camera body and zoomed to 300mm, there is a huge hole at the rear for ingress of foreign bodies which might find their way into view.

Spray the electrical contact cleaner onto the contacts of the SD card and push it in and out a few times before the cleaner has time to dry.
Does the red light on the back of the camera flash as the card is inserted?

Pentax KM disassembly - stuck screw?>

You could try heating the screw with a fine tip soldering iron assuming the bottom plate is metal. Holding the screwdriver tightly in the screw and giving it a tap with a toffee hammer (just a gentle tap, mind).
As advised earlier, JIS crosspoint screwdrivers are essential.

I have a Sigma 10-20 which gives excellent results in confined spaces. Holding the camera horizontal in landscape or portrait mode reduces the distortion inherent with this lens and the wide angles of view mean that you can still get the subject in the frame, even if off centre. It is easy to see distortion through the viewfinder and judge whether it is acceptable before taking the picture. My 10-20 is the older 4.5-5.6 aperture model, but there is af3.5 constant aperture model which would be better in limited light. With your K50, it is wellworth taking several shots at different iso's to ascertain the upper limit which is acceptable to you.
Keep an eye out for a good used example.

SD cards for K20D

I think it would be wiser to buy a number of smaller cards rather than relying on one large one. My K20D will give 272/101 exposures at maximum quality with a 4gb card, a 32 gb would hold 8704/808.Having a problem with smaller cards means loosing a lot less work.

The K10D is a fine camera which will give you A3 prints, there is no hurry at all to upgrade, and as the actual control of the camera is very similar to newer bodies, you might as well wait until you really feel the need.
When you eventually do get a newer body, why not keep it for black and white photography.
With the firmware updated, your K10D will autofocus with SDM lenses, everything except the latest 55-300 with the electric diaphragm.

When you have had some practice with your new lens, you may well feel the need for a longer focal length, 90, 100, 105, they are easier to use. I have a 50mm Sigma and a 90Tamron, they are both keepers.
