Looking for advice

Don't really have a lot of options lol. 105mm/2.4 for portrait/normal. You could go with the 165/2.8 for a longer option. The 165 also has a leaf shutter variant at f4, if you want to do flash.
55/4 or 45/4 for the wide side. People say the 45 is too wide and not as sharp as the 55, I have no experience with the 55.
I have the 105 and 45. My next pick up would be the 165/2.8.

Digitizing Help - New to Film PP

I have an Epson V550. I really like it as a dedicated film scanner. I haven't used it in a while because I haven't developed film in a while.
It has holders for:
-2 strips of 6 35mm negatives
-4 mounted slides
-1 strip of 120 film (fits 3 6x7 frames)

It has ICE but a digital version. I never use it, I seem to remember it making my photos blurry or something, maybe I need to try it again.

IIRC, the difference between this and V600 was the capability to scan larger than 120, which I didn't need.

I think the software is pretty good. You can allow it to automatically find the photo's edges or pick them manually. The auto works pretty well, I use it. You can also adjust levels and color and such in a preview before you scan.

The downside with the 35mm negative holder is that if the film is curling bad, it can be really hard to load and takes some practicing.

The K-3s AF is fantastic...

I won't buy it based on size. Like others have said, a D810 sized camera would be a no go for me.

First was build quality (solid feeling and comfort of grip), second was shutter sound!

Also, I still haven't really noticed the Ricoh logo, whenever I think about it I am usually reading these forums and my camera isn't in hand. You guys chimp too much :)

I could see your frustration if you came from a K-5 variant, but coming from a K-r, the AF button on the K-3 feels a lot more natural. My frustration with the AF button is when I have the grip on. The green button on the camera is in the same relative location as the AF button on the grip so I get confused switching from portrait to landscape and keep hitting the green button when I want to focus!

I picked up one of these for my K-3:
Amazon.com: SanDisk Extreme Plus 32 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 80MB/s (SDSDXS-032G-AFFP): Computers & Accessories
Its not the Extreme Pro that everyone says to use, but it is still fast (80MB/s, Class 10 and UHS 1) and much cheaper.

I, too, am interested in batteries, though. Should I get Pentax brand or is off-brand OK?

Thanks for the clarification, my post about the 4k was just about "4k" being the new resolution buzz word like "1080p" was,.

"4k" is the new "1080p", just a higher resolution for video.

Ilford XP2 problems?

Bingo.

Also, regarding the other photos, either whoever developed them let them Dev too long (or too hot) or scanned them with too much contrast. The second to last photo looks like the camera got tricked by the back light from outside. In that situation I would have pointed the camera down at the floor, metered, then reframed and shot.

The k1000's meter needle will go to the middle if there is not enough light to activate it. This can cause you to think you have adequate exposure when it is really way under.

Just dont over do it, some scenes just don't look right with HDR, especially extreme dynamic range. What arent you pleased with exactly?
