Decided to change my entry because I like this shot better. Taken with K7 and Voigtlander 40mm SLII Ultron with close focus lens attachement. WB, vibrance, and some shadow adjustment.
My inspiration was to capture tiny little flowers instead of a big one. :)

Thanks for the comments guys. The picture does look better without the sky. I didn't even notice how blown out it was, so thanks for that. A trimmed the edges a touch too.
Differing opinions on the colors so here is another comparison.

I love images like this (deep shadows, strong lines, B&W) and finding it in a pile of old forgotten ones just makes it even better. :)

Thanks for the critique everyone. Sorry for the delay getting back to this. The composition of this photo was a complete accident freak but something about it felt interesting to me so I thought I would see what you all think of it. And yes, I was unsure what to do with the photo PP-wise.
I think overall it doesen't quite achieve anything but here is my last attempt to make something with it.

I try to follow the rule of thirds about 90% of the time myself and I have to say that I prefer the original shot as well. I'm glad that everyone so far is pleased with the PP effects. Gives me some confidence in what I'm doing.

With the processing I wanted to bring out the texture and contrast and add some dramatic tones and hopefully create an interesting Architecture / Abstract image. I think I prefer the color version but it's hard to say.

I definatly take the critique forum seriously, I've picked up much good advice. I also enjoy having my shots critiqued by anyone that is gracious enough to take the time for a few thoughts and advice.
I think the problem is that I like the critique forum too much to stay away. But I swear now not to post any more shots until I have something with more 'substance' to it if you will.
And if anyone critiques my shots I will be very appreciative.
