Sorry for necro-ing this thread, but I wanted to show some 10-17 macros to someone here and figured I may as well bump for anyone that may have missed it 2 years ago.

I'd be looking at a Samyang/Bower/Vivitar/Whatever 85/1.4 lens. Yeah, it's manual focus, but AF is going to hunt in really low light anyway...

Sigma recently announced 5 new lenses including a new 85mm/1.4 which should be an amazing long portrait lens. I'm surprised there hasn't been any discussion on this lens here yet.

I have the Sigma 28/1.8, but all my samples are with a full frame Canon. There were some 24/1.8 samples posted here a while back that were amazing. If you get a good copy, they're amazing lenses.

Thanks guys. The 85/1.2 is on my long list, but not a priority. I'll get the Sigma 15mm Fisheye, 45mm Tilt/Shift and 135/2 first.

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well. I figured I'd pop back in here and post a few images (it's been a while). I have some film in the Super Program but haven't gotten around to finishing up the roll yet.

BTW, I've been in touch with Rosemary (rmtagg) and spoke to her on the phone just last month. I don't know if she's popped in here or not, but she's doing well and has been busy doing what she does....taking photos.

Canon 7D and why I wouldn't get one

I think it's impossible to feel comfortable with any new body without spending some time with it.

When I switched to Canon I absolutely hated the ergonomics of the 5D compared to the K20D and even posted something to that effect in these forums. After spending a lot more time with the 5D, I feel much more comfortable with the layout. I really like the thumb dial for adjusting EV comp in AV mode and aperture in manual. I wish I was able to better customize the buttons through the menu like I was able to do with the K20D. Other than that I really can't complain too much about the ergonomics. I have a similar viewfinder (only 9 AF points though) and I barely noticed it from day one.

That being said, I do see a lot of 7D bodies for sale in the Canon forums......a lot more than you would expect of such a highly anticipated body.

None of these were shot in a studio.....2-5 and 10 were all done on location with off-camera hotshoe flashes. The others were all natural light.

Thanks!

Thanks guys. I think there is more to the camera thing than you would think. There are quite a few things I lost in the switch. Sure, I gained FF and better low-light, high ISO performance, but there are a few things I miss dearly (TAv mode, Pentax menus, Limiteds, DA* lenses). Most of all I miss this forum and all the friends I made here. THat's one reason I'll never be totally gone. In fact, I plan on picking up a K200D and 10-17 for some fisheye shooting.

It's been a while since I've posted anything here with the switch to Canon and all. Since I promised to drop in from time to time, I figured I'd post a few images from a few recent shoots...

Wow, Mark! Incredible image.

You really need to have that one printed on metallic paper. Adorama does a great job and the pricing on their metallic prints is pretty good.
