Ah

Shake reduction. The next question is obvious then. If I want to shoot my 500mm Siggy handheld do I turn off OS on the lens or the body?

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback guys. Is SR a term for in built camera stabiliation?

So I need to turn the OS off on the lens with the K-x?

Hi

Really enjoying my K-x with kit 18-55 and 55-200 lenses but need something longer for birding in the near future.
I have my eye on the Sigma 150-500 OS HSM lens and want to know is that going to be ok with the K-x?
The unfortunate thing is I have heard stories of bad copies and malfunctions.

Here is the lens that I am thinking of purchasing :

SIGMA 150-500 F5.6-6.3 OS HSM - PENTAX -NEW-UK DEALER! on eBay (end time 01-Apr-11 18:11:32 BST)

The Pentax has in built stabilisation so will this be ok with OS turned on etc?

Your thoughts and opinion...

Many thanks

Hi folks.

This is my first post since introducing myself. Hi again.

I am really happy with my camera the K-x and have shot some lovely scenes with garden birds etc. However, I cannot get any RAW photos viewed on my laptop. Can I assume I need Photoshop to do this?
I finally deleted the editing software from my computer that came with the K-x (Utility 4) because it crashed EVERYTIME I opened it to view or edit photos.

Can anyone suggest a free piece of software for post processing that will also enable me to view RAW files or am I better off with Photoshop on the pc?

Another little question is; according dpreview the leap from JPEG to RAW isnt huge on the K-x so is it really worth shooting in RAW?

THANKS

Hi

Got myself a Pentax K-x a few weeks ago and honestly believe its the best camera around at the moment - period!

I shoot lots of birds in my local area and time and time again I am amazed at the low light results.

I live in Northern Ireland and have a great interest in nature.

Looking forward to perusing this form - Tomkeet recommended it andI am inclined to agree. Everyone is very helpful and quick to reply when in need.

I have a few probs with the camera that I need assistance with.

Ciao for now
