the big grey box project - or where am I going to store 50+ lenses and the rest of it

Cheers! I have two of these, plus one of the giant desiccant's lee valley sells. They all live in my lens cabinet, and I recharge them from time to time. Quite like that you can dry them out in the oven!

This is lovely, looks great! I have an upgrade suggestion! Reusable desiccant packs like this: (the 40g one are nice and slim)

Thanks! It's with an IR R72 filter. Since you're just getting scraps of IR light from the K3 sensor, this is a 2 minute exposure in broad daylight. The background blur is all motion blur from the wind in the trees. No processing to the photo besides a lot of curves adjustment as the image comes out fairly low contrast.

I had a lot of fun taking them! Keeping our dandelions up is fun, so many bees out there.

Darn it, there's another lens I need to buy some day.

They must be rare, hard to find images from them? (I love large format stuff, saving my pennies to get an 8x10 some day.)

Thanks for all of the comments! :)

This is on display near a big gravel pit/aggregate/concrete site. Given the scale of the site, I'm guessing this cheery dozer isn't quite big enough to be useful. There are a lot of guys around here that will really tune up and repaint old machines and put them on display like this. I bet it still gets put to use once and a while to make sure it still runs.

I would indeed like a tilt screen for this kind of shot. I've thought about getting a K-70 or KP for a while for odd angle shots. A lot of time I use my camera as a dumb light box, so the downgrade in FPS etc from the K-70 doesn't matter at all to me, but the nicer sensor and tilt screen could be nice.

I like the fixed screen on my K3. Wouldn't complain about a tilt screen, but I think it's hilarious and sad people get so bent out of one feature or another. :/

Looking forward to a refresh over my K3!

Thank you! :) I'll have to do more of this. I've been enjoying these club challenges, I find they're often not something I'd normally do, it really is a challenge.

No time with the present! :) If you do try your hand at it, I'd say go totally manual. Best way to learn and way more tweakable for stuff like this.

Thank you Todd! This was for the weekly challenge for my photo club, "still life". It was fun to play around with strobes, trying to get some good shadows. The key light is a grid, with a shoot through umbrella for a fill (turned down low). I didn't measure it, but the ratio is probably around 4 to 1.

A raku pot my mother made a number of years ago, shot with my excellent K3 + the 35mm DFA and some cactus strobes.

Another Ottawa shooter here (hi!) :) Same story here. I bought my K3 at Henrys downtown after much deliberation between brands. This was in 2016, before they stopped carrying Pentax. It's too bad, I always thought it was nice they had a wide range of systems, you could go there and see a bit of everything. I've also been shopping online (and used!) but have been talking myself into getting some godox strobes from Henrys. They're a good store.

Night Red vs Blue

Thanks! So I was using "Light Painting Brushes" hooded filters. Camera in bulb mode, f/11. Stand in one spot and run the flashlight over yourself with one filter, then "paint" some lines to the middle, then put some light on that side of the tree behind. Then I repeated from the other side with the other coloured filter.
