Wow, the first image is amazing. At first glance I thought I was looking at a miniature of this scene and then I noticed the ouf of focus areas and looked closer. This is one of those images that got me looking twice (or three times). Thanks for sharing and I guess that I want to shoot medium format now as well ;-)

I see your point, but what I thought later, reflecting on this, was that - for me at least - it stopped being a painting and turned into (blobs of) paint.

Great images, Tas, the top one definitely. It shows great detail in that imposing cloud.

Very nice. The tones of the tree in the foreground combine brilliantly with the tones in the sunset.

Thanks for sharing and, yes, you definitely don't want to pixel peep here. It just looks disgusting when zoomed in. I've seen the painting in real life and when looking at the, notably 3D, images, it is just amazing to see the pearl disappear. There's just soo much suggestion going on and our brains playing tricks on us (or me at least). Fascinating stuff. All the more since this was done with just some paint and a brush. No super sharp lens and a gazillionpixel camera.

Hmmm, lovely colours and scene. Thanks for sharing! ---------- Post added 01-20-21 at 12:31 AM ----------
Great scenery from the dunes. Images like this always make me regret that we have no dunes close by in Groningen.

Hi Ken,
That's a nice bird. I'm just wondering a about the photo. It looks as if the bird has been photoshopped onto the image of the rock due to some artifacts that appear around the bird's toes and the breast. Is this my monitor acting up or is this a composite image? No criticism intended, just curiousity.
all the best,
Hans

Wow, that looks like great quality black ice. That must be some excellent skating. Oh, did I mention that the picture is great as well?

Noooooo! This is way too addictive! joking aside, well done for organising this tournament. That has to be a lot of work to get all of this right and sorted. BTW: the page works very nicely.

It must be. Oh, wait, my nomination is on the list, so all's well! I think it is a nice list of lenses (though I would have liked to see more of the older lenses listed), so I'm looking forward to the second stage of this tournament.

Very nice, the ones with the swings and the canal boat are amazingly desolate. If I'm allowed a minor point of critique: the swings would be even better if you could change perspective so that the goalposts (that's what they look like to me) wouldn't be in the background. They're just slightly distracting to me.

That's a great scene and the colours and stars are superb. When I zoomed in I noticed some spots in the watery part where the stitching didn't go according to plan, but this is a lovely image with some amazing colours. Thanks for sharing.

I'll try it with different batteries, but as far as I remember, it has this behaviour also with fully charged fresh batteries. ---------- Post added 01-13-21 at 12:51 AM ----------
Thanks, I'm not sure what you mean with 'shooting w/o contacts', but I've never had this happen with my M150/3.5, the M300/4 or the K135/2.5. If it happens, it happens with the M100/4 macro and all of these have a contactless bayonet.

Yep, that looks angry indeed. Nice capture, also with the sun just hiding behind the cloud.

Some images taken with the M100/4 macro. I'm not sure whether this is the right place to ask, but I was wondering whether anyone else also has this: My K-50 behaves really strange when I put my M100/4 macro on it (no other manual lens elicits this behaviour). It sometimes actuates the shutter even when the object is not in focus (despite CIF enabled); the mirror flips more than its supposed to; sounding almost as if I'm using live view even when I'm not and it tends to freeze so that I have to take out battery to unfreeze it again and then it may start up without asking for the focal length to be dialled in. It's more of a nuisance than anyhting else, but I'm wondering whether this happens more and what could be done about it. I'll also ask in the K-50 forum.
Anyway, there are the images courtesy of a cold and frosty morning: A multitude of suns by Hans Vedder, on Flickr Popsicle by Hans Vedder, on Flickr Popsicle too by Hans Vedder, on Flickr

Wow, lovely image, great ice and the idea that it was a cold and long hike to get there only adds to the image. Now for some freezing over here.....

Aha, I noticed the very similar images in the Takumar thread so I'm guessing you used the takumar alongside the -series? Which do you like best and did you use the same aperture on both lenses? If you'd ask me, the stars on the K-series are nicer; in the last picture of the series, they're much more defined in the K and a bit muddled in the takumar.
