In the final issue of Popular Photography they listed cell phone cameras as one of the reasons they were going out of publication.

Foggy, wet, chilly. All the things I like for early morning photography. I was sitting on my front porch enjoying the view and decided to break out the Pentax K5iis and Sigma 70-200 F/2.8 lens. I took a series I call "Monster in the mist". These are 2 of my favorites.

Lately I've kept my K7 in my truck all the time. On my way home from Elizabeth City this morning the clouds parted and had a surreal look to them. Since there was no traffic I stopped and took a few shots, hoping for a good one. Here it is.

K3 with a Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM. Sometimes the storm clouds rolling in want to be photographed. The lens was in the used department at BH Photo for a great price. Based upon the reviews it gets here on Pentax Forums I had to buy it. I'm not sorry that I did.

Yesterdays storm arriving. I bought a second hand K3 for a song and got a killer deal on a Sigma F/1.4 EX DC 35mm lens here on this page. Together it's a match made in heaven.

It was such a pretty day yesterday, I had my "new" to me Sigma 17-70 lens that I bought from this forum on my KS2.
I recently had to send my KS2 for aperture control block repair, it's my constant companion now when I got out.

Several days ago in Walmart, walking past the camera section and overheard a young married couple talking about buying a camera. Husband says to wife: "Of course all they have is Canon and Nikon DSLR's, if you want a Pentax you have to order those online, those are specialty cameras" I almost wrecked the shopping cart looking back at them.....

I drove down to the Chowan River yesterday to do a little photography. I took 4 Pentax cameras and a bunch of lenses, two tripods, man I was loaded for bear. As it turns out, I did most of my shooting off hand with the K-S2 and my trusty 10-17 Pentax lens. I shot these on f/22 for the starburst effect of the sun and the reflection in the water. Both are at 10mm.

Is this lens made for crop sensor or full frame? I have recently upgraded to a K1 mark ii from a K5iis and am looking for lenses that I don't need to use the crop function for.

My beloved K-S2 has recently been stricken with aperture control block failure. I plan to call PC35 PhotoLab this afternoon to make a repair appointment.

It just doesn't seem like Pentax is interested in advertising in the USA like Canon, Nikon, etc etc are.

There's a young lady in my camera club whose K1000 has broken and she cannot afford to replace it with a new DSLR. She's got plenty of good glass for that K1000 and is upset that she can't use it anymore, she doesn't know it yet but the next meeting the club has I'm giving her my beloved K20D, battery grip, 4 batteries, new memory card and a case to store it all in. I'll miss having that K20D, but it's my least used Pentax, I use my K7, KS2 and K5iis much more frequently. This way that K20D will still get used and because she's a member of the same club I am I get the benefit of seeing the images that camera produces for her! It's a win/win!

Spent the morning making another batch of pickles. Bread and Butter. Here's 15 cucumbers and 6 onions sliced to 1/8th inch and salted down. Might not be the prettiest picture but that little Q10 comes in real handy sometimes.

I believe I'd sell a kidney before I sold my K20D and my K-7. Matter of fact I'd sell a kidney before I sold my K5iis and my K-S2.

This was taken about an hour before it began to snow. It snowed all day and night, the next morning we had 8 inches on the ground, I used my Pentax K-S2 with the 18-135mm lens. |

I think it's pretty awesome to find an Eric Gill quote as graffiti behind a building like that. Here is the entire quote if interested:
That state is a state of slavery in which a man does what he likes to do in his spare time and in his working time that which is required of him. This state can only exist when what a man likes to do is to please himself.
That state is a state of Freedom in which a man does what he likes to do in his working time and in his spare time that which is required of him. This state can only exist when what a man likes to do is to please God.
