Did you know the KP could do this?

I agree, KP + 20-40 must be an amazing combo! I have 21 and 40 limiteds and still I am really thinking of buying 20-40.

Concerning the ND filter - KP provides many advanced features, including advanced shooting modes (multiexposure and interval shooting). Each of the two can be used to simulate ND filter. You can choose many things:

- number of shots (2-1999)
- the way of merging (average, bright, additive)
- and whether or not to save each particular shot

So, after one press the camera can combine up to 1999 shots in three different ways and give you a single (!) RAW output. This is amazing. ND filter is then simulated by the average merging. This feature is really unique among all cameras I know.

KP is an amazing camera, these shots are amazing but they are not showing what KP can do :) What I really like, for instance, is the possibility to simulate ND filter and other things which are provided by the camera directly. The images above required some "outsourcing" :)

No, no HDR mode. Look at the "average" mode here:

KP allows to take a series of at most 2000 images and automatically create their "average"

Try the multiexposure mode instead of buying ND filter for this lens. KP is very capable camera in this manner and can simulate even strong ND filter.

Best AF.C Setting for the K-5II

I have used K-5II for more than 4 years. My recommendation is not to use and to rely on AF.C mode. The reason is that the AF areas are too large to be able to follow the subject appropriately.

When I was (occasionally) shooting any movement, I always used AF.S mode with the highest frame rate - push the AF button -> 2-4 pictures, push the AF button -> 2-4 pictures and so on ... and my success rate was quite high (around 80-90 %).

Whats the deal with Pentax-F 135mm 2.8

FA 135/2,8 and F135/2,8 should be optically the same. Nowadays there are only a few of them and are pricey ... but there is no other AF lens like this (small, light, IF, 52mm filter, lens hood, fast AF)

How Weather Proof is Pentax KP + HD DA 21mm Ltd?

I have the same combo (KP + 21ltd) and I am not worried about watter splash. I am using WR body and non-WR lens for more than 10 years and I have never had problems either with body or with any lens. And situations like beer splash, one-day mountain walk in a heavy rain definitely happened, my beloved K10D was cleaned under watter stream ... . I am always wearing my camera in the position when the camera display is on the top of the combo, from time to time I take the camera out to shot some pictures.

Well, I am not worried about using this combo in normal situations, I would never leave KP and 21ltd on a tripod in a heavy rain for tens of minutes because some watter could get between the lens and the body.

In fact, I am more worried about high air humidity which may be a problem even for WR body + WR lens ...

KP vs K3 ii for wildlife photography

I know that the accelerator is used just for processing images. However at the same time this saves working capacity of standard imaging engine. This should allow using more efficient AF algorithms (this is the difference between K-1 and K-1 II). In my opinion, an analogous test, which you did for K-1 and K-1II, would show a similar difference between KP and K-3II.

Well, K-1 and K-1II do have the same AF as well and there is a significant difference in their AF performance. I would expect the same difference between K-3II and KP due to usage of acceleration unit.

magmotif: KP is an amazing camera with class leading image quality.

kozlok: KP brings so many improvements and is not prone to block aperture problem. I would definitely go for it unless you need larger buffer and faster burst rate.

Sorry, but I could not find any statement claiming that the aperture design is different. Why am I wondering about this? One friend of mine repairs aperture blocks in K-30 and newer cameras and he has recently got one K-70 for repair. Could you give me, please, direct link to some official fact or statement?

Because your intention is to keep this camera longer, definitely buy KP now. Among stuffs mentioned above, the aperture mechanism in K-70 might be more prone to fail.

And other features - much better IS (even in comparison to K-3 II), better AF, much higher usable ISO values, possible grip option ...

Ricoh GRII with viewfinder or other wide angle alternative?...

In terms of IQ and compactness, LX 100 is an alternative of Ricoh GR. And it does have an optical viewfinder. It is up to Bruce whether or not he accepts a zoom lens and different handling. Another option is to take any Fuji body having OVF and 18/2.

Why Foveon? GR monochrome (ie. with sensor without Bayer mask) would be great!
