I live on the coast in southern Spain, so I have access to wonderful sunrises and sunsets as well as photographing the typical small towns and white villages that exist here. We have a lot of sunny days here so the light is very bright and strong, so the best times to shoot are often are the mornings and evenings as the overhead direct sun is too harsh. I also do real estate photography so have to use HDR to balance the extremely strong light that enters the properties. I use the K-70 and a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 and am pleased with the results.

Welcome to the forum, and enjoy your LX! I've had mine since the eighties. One of the best SLR cameras that Pentax produced!

Great work!! So simple yet so effective, and no PP! And the shots of the car really do look real. Amazing! Very well done.

I have the K-70 too. As a 'long' walk-around lens I use a Sigma 18-300mm which serves me fine. I also own some legacy lenses too which of course work so well on the K-70. However, if you're into wildlife and birds from a distance, you really need something longer than 300mm. Having said that and although I don't own the PLM 55-300, I do understand from many posts and reviews here that it's a great lens and of course comes with WR. I think in your position I would hunt down some second hand, long legacy lenses on the net. Take your time in browsing before you purchase. If from eBay, check thoroughly the sellers credentials, look for a 98-100% customer satisfaction, and read the comments from their customers. I have always found this to be the most reliable way to purchase online.

I too have tried this latest feature in PS. I'm not over keen to use it as I prefer to get it right in the shot. But having said that, it does do a pretty good job! I live in southern Spain so the sky is nearly always blue! So it gets a little boring to have just that! A few clouds add so much more to the skyline. It's a handy to have when it might be needed.

Good luck with your new channel! I just had a peep. I use various SMC legacy lenses on my K-70, my two favourites being the 50mm f/1.7 and the 100mm M Macro f/4.

Well, you should come to Spain and see how they navigate roundabouts! It's crazy! On entering a 2 lane roundabout, they are instructed (at driving school) to follow the outside lane. If they're going straight on that's not too much of a problem. However, if they are intending to turn left or do a complete U-turn, they still follow the outside lane and therefore cut across you if you are in the inside lane (perhaps going straight on!!). This is normally done with no courtesy whatsoever and usually without any indication. It's absolute madness, and very dangerous! Every time I enter one in Spain I really don't know where they might go. Talking about this one day in a Bar to Spanish taxi driver, I asked him why if you are instructed to use the outside land on a roundabout, is the inner lane for? He answered quite seriously, "Oh, that's for overtaking!"

I have several manual legacy lenses, but my favourite is the SMC M 100mm Macro f4. The focusing ring has tremendous reach and goes around and around for ever. It's a delight to use!

The specs for this new camera look quite impressive, but the tilt screen is finally missing! I use mine on my K-70 extensively and couldn't do without it. So as much as I may like this camera when it finally arrives and once having read in-depth reviews, I can't see how I could warrant spending the suggested price. I might as well go with a new K1 Mark II.

Also... When shooting with a tripod it's not necessary to have shake reduction on. In fact it can be worse since vibration from the camera mirror flipping up and down on the rigid tripod can create a minor shake. In menu settings you can program the SR - shake reduction, to switch off automatically when selecting remote shutter release via cable or IR.

Thank you! I took several shots before, during and after the sunset. I'll post a blue hour shot later in the week using an ND64 filter I used to freeze the waves. ---------- Post added 10-01-19 at 10:00 AM ----------
Thank you very much! I was at the beach for about 2 and a half hours and took about 50 shots in all, some with an ND64 filter during blue hour to freeze the waves, which I'll post later in the week. But that's the beauty of digital these days, you're not loading film all the time, so you might get 3 or 4 crackers out of a bunch of fifty or more!!

Thanks for the additional comments, but I'm sticking to still photography for now as I didn't but the K-70 for video use in the first place. If I wanted to seriously get into video, I would simply buy a dedicated video camera, that way I will get the results I expect.

I just bought these on Amazon (US, but i live I Spain) and they're great. Good delivery. Easy to apply and do not effect the image resolution of the screen, or interfeer when you close it against the back of the camera.
