While traveling I am using a surface pro 4 with Lightroom Classic.
Its a beautiful touch screen. The device is limited in connection ports but has robust wireless connectivity. It struggles a wee bit with k-1 RAW files.... IMO get the most ram you can afford.

I use CD autofocus with interval shooting when doing selfie type photos. The interval and delay makes it easy to pick a few choice poses and the face detect in live view is the trick to nail focus.

Any word on an upcoming 70-200ish lens in f4 branded as Pentax? I see those guys at F-Stoppers are yapping it up about some newly announced Tamron lenses..

It’s smart and will eliminate buyers remorse (if there ever could be). Besides when you send it in you will automatically go in a marketing list for all the BOSS lenses in the pipeline they have not told anyone about ;)

My kids are too old to be cute, the cat and I dont see eye to eye, my dog passed away, and my wife told me where she'd stick the camera if I made pictures of her... so I am currently grasping some of the nuances of shooting birds. - catch light, - no food in mouth, - interesting composition, and the most challenging learning behaviour. Credit where credit is due.. its a challenging proposition, and a good way to while away the mornings while SWMBO is tuned into Olympics...

The luminous landscape

September 8, 2014, a perigree syzygy or supermoon event was calculated to occur, and methodologically speaking it was perfect to try and do something with it. My camera clutch raced out to try and catch the moon on the horizon and put interesting architecture in its foreground. As the few optimum moments of shooting go by quickly.. what is a gang of photographers to do but capture the landscape as the brilliant moon illuminates the night.

Owners of Pentax 55-300 and 150-450 - Are you still glad you bought the 150-450?

I just acquired Sigma 120-400, a reasonable equivalent to 150-450 for size / weight.

I had 55-300. I will keep the 55-300 - Its very light, and cheap in consideration of what it delivers.

The M 20/4 has great colour - I'm a fan, and it's a great entry into UWA shooting on FF. Not to mention, no hugely oversized filters for ND or Gradient when shooting landscapes.
