Setting the aperture on the 135mm f/2.5 bayonet

I may be speaking out of Newbieness but my K-70 has a function setting in the program to "enable/disable" aperture ring for lenses that have them.
Is this not true of the k1ii?

Asking for a friend! :)

Hi All, I haven't posted in this thread for some time! I ordered some new "Star Filters" and thought as my walk around lens seems to be the 18-135 I would test the 6 star out!

Pentax Aperture Black Picture Problem Class Action Lawsuit

I think with all the negative feelings that are coming out about this style of "ambulance chasing" there must be too many lawyers with nothing better to do than "Brand Bashing" if you invest in a stock and then drive the company into the ground by continually telling everyone "how bad" they are don't expect your stock to give you great returns!

As "ALL" the DSLRS' have their issues with failures by comparison and a market that is on shaky ground to begin with when will it all stop, when they have all thrown their hats in and said "OK, no more consumer cameras, let them use their phones if they want to take pictures!" When phones are surpassing DSLRS' in PRICE POINT and most phone consumers are replacing them every two years you will reap what you sow!

As I suffered through the aperture defect and paid the price on my K-70 (under $300 including shipping & insurance) I was not happy about it but I still LOVE THE CAMERA & have FAITH in the Pentax brand. The class action law suit is open to consumers of the US but I don't see anyone else in the world reaping a benefit from this action other than the LAWYERS, I originally paid less than $1300.00 for my K-70 starter kit and I now have about $2500.00 invested in other equipment to pair with it.

Do you have any GUARANTEE if you went with another BRAND today that in 3 years time you would not be in the same place? I think not, so my rant is done good luck with your lawsuits sometimes you just have to wipe the crap from your shoes and walk on.

Acquired Gear given to me!

I have not really had them out for a run yet other than in the backyard for test. I am becoming a victim of "GAS", I do like the IQ of the A 50 but it feels inferior to my other lenses, I will give them some more "exposure" before condemning them to get dusty on the shelf! The Makinon seems ok but I have most of that covered with an Irix 150 Macro, an old IMAGE lens 28/80 and my SMC 18/135.

As I do have some old SP1000 gear somewhere in storage I would have to dig up my M42 adapter to use the Helios for testing, not out of the realm of possibility, although not likely this year.

Thanks for your insight.

My bad, it was only a lens cap on the Diramic, I spoke too soon, however the 50mm takes a nice shot but is the cheap 2.8 not the 1.2 I had hoped for!

I was going at first glance, I hadn't taken the Olympus lens cap off the Diramic and it is actually a Helios lens 44-2 screw mount Ser# 75321389 on the body,
I have the book for it and say it will accept Pentax/Praktika thread so I assume it is 42mm thread like Pentax.

Lens looks clean but viewfinder and internals of the mirror and such look very dusty, lots of specs.

SharkyCA's Album: Acquired Camera Gear - PentaxForums.com

I was gifted a Pentax A 50mm lens, a Pentax P3 camera along with a Makinon f28/80 Macro lens, various 49mm filters and a Russian made Diramic R1 camera with an Olympus lens?

Is it worth keeping or selling/gifting?

I didn't answer your poll as I think the selection may be too limiting outside of the 55-300, I would suggest you go to the Pentax Lens sample search page and find what you think is your best fit based on plugging the K-70 in as a camera choice! Over 4000 photos to check out taken with the K-70 and many different formats and lenses, you can also plug certain lenses in to get an idea of shots taken with the K-70 and a lens you would like to see result! Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum!

Which K-1 did you buy? They did go through an upgrade if I am not mistaken.

The K-1 still has a lot of lenses that can be used,Full Frame Lenses | PentaxForums.com I would suggest you check around this forum before you decide to go a different route! Pentax K-1 Review - Introduction | PentaxForums.com Reviews
