K1000 mirror charge lever

The image in my attachment shows the mechanism of the Spotmatic, which is almost equal to the one of the K1000. What you need to do is remove the circlip at arrow 1, lift the L-shaped lever, clean the inside of the lever and the stud it sits on. Apply a little oil to the stud and/or the lever. Then put the lever back in place, while at the same time moving the spring (arrow 2) behind the lever in the direction of the big black gear. Then put the circlip back in place.

Is there any way to mount a filter adapter to the 10-17 Fisheye?

You may want to find the "old" K mount 17 mm fish-eye lens, which has built-in filters and a gelatin filter holder at the rear. The same goes for the yet older Takumar 4/17 and the newer smc Pentax-A 2.8/16 fish-eye lenses.

Correct, I have one on my MZ-3, but the camera does not function anymore. The battery grip is for sale. Please be advised that I live in Europe, so shipping is not cheap and you may have to pay duties/taxes.

Misc Resolution of 50mm SMC Pentax f:4 Macro Focus At Infinity

The DA 35 Ltd is a very nice lens, but on the K-1 at infinity or long focusing distances, it does not cover the entire picture frame. At short(er) distances, it does, however.

I think you mean the battery holder, since the camera has a built-in drive/winder. I don't think parts are still available, so try to find a new battery holder would be my advice.

Macro lenses in general are not constructed for infinity focusing, but for short(er) distances. Some macro lenses do however produce decent results at infinity and long(er) focusing distances.

Which 35mm F/2.0 to get?

Long ago I have tested the smc Takumar 2/25, the K 2/35 and the M 2/35. They all have their strong points and weak points, The FA 2/35 AL and HD FA 2/36 AL are superior to all other 35 mm lenses. Sharpness and contrast are excellent and there is no rectilinear distortion.

I have tried an even much older lens, an Asahi Kogaku Takumar 1:3.5/50 [Model III] from an Asahflex of 1955. Sharpness is great, contrast a bit weak, but acceptable.

believe it or not, but it will cover 35 mm quite nicely, so if you can fix it, you are in business, I know, because I have the XS version, which has the same optics

I think someone swapped the mirror housing. Just unscrew it and check for the flash contact(s).

It is easy to mount the mirror housing from an M42 camera onto an Asahiflex. You can see it by the rounded-off shape at the bottom!
I have also seen an Asahiflex that was roughly modified with a file to put on an M42 mount.
My contact person at Asahi Optical specifically confirmed me that they never made M42 Asahiflex cameras
Cecchi says a lot more that doesn't add up, such as how thick the coating that AOCo applied was. Coating is microscopically thin!
Everyone can believe what they want, I will stick to the facts. I did not spend more than 20 years of research for nothing!

Great to have an Asahiflex. After a long and intensive search I now have all the Asahiflex models, but not yet the Tower variants. Although I have done extensive research before writing my two books on Pentax from 1952 to 1977 I have not been able to find out why Sears used such strange model names and why the 23 and 24 appeared before the 22. All in all they only used 26 and 29 in addition. If you dive into the history of Sears you will find that they did the same with other brand they sold (source: Sears - Camera-wiki.org - The free camera encyclopedia). Tower 27 and 28 do not exist and Tower 25 is a Nikon. Happy Pentaxing!

I suppose that the higher the edition number, the more information will be available. To be honest, I think the Kepler books are more about photography and less about how to use your camera. I'm not saying that the books are bad, though. If you want to learn your camera, you had better find a user manual. They can be downloaded for free on the internet. Have you considered buying my book, The Definitive Asahi Pentax Collector's Guide?
