Your latest acquisition

I've found my latest acquisition at a vintage store for 4.99$. It didn't look good but one can't go wrong for this kind of price.
Anyway, I opened it, cleaned all the inside, reglued the window which had come loose & revamped the case which was in a sorry state.

I shot this one about 2 weeks ago with my Olympus Trip 35. These are old MR-63, the workhorses of the Montréal Metro from 1966 to 2018.

I like it too :-) I usually have a hard time doing countryside pictures because the roads are narrow and I dare not stop the car on the side.

And butter peanut sandwiches! Always.

Not the vacation or scout-like stuff but I remember sitting with him in his kitchen often. Not that we'd talk much, he wasn't the chatty time but, you know, you don't realize how you miss these moments 'til they're gone.
I remember watching him paint his model cars or make his Christmas decorations. 3/4 of our Christmas ornaments were made by him, he was very productive; Christmas, St Valentine, Easter, Halloween, his room would change with the seasons. When he moved to the nursing home, I'd randomly visit him once in awhile to give him a wet shave, watch hockey or just sit there for awhile when he was asleep. My aunt was visiting him every day since she's working there. Sometimes I'd go there with my dad and his brother happened to be there too and my aunt would show up for lunch. Everyone taxing his beer...loll

Here, I posted a picture of him from back when he was hockey coach.

Hell, so do I! And bacon, lots of bacon.

Thanks, Steve, I appreciate the words
Even tho he was 93, I honestly believed that he'd be with us for a few more years.
When people live this long, you start thinking they'll live for 100 years and more. The news really caught me off guard.
We are comforting ourselves thinking that he wasn't alone even tho nursing homes have been on lockdown for the past 2 weeks.
My aunt works there and she was able to keep visit him every day as usual. She was with him.

My Grandad passed away this morning and I just wanted to share this picture of him drinking beer on his 91th birthday. That was 2½ years ago.
He always liked beer, even in his nursing home years, he'd drink a pint almost every day. Old habits.
The last time I visited him, he was still recovering from a rough pneumonia and I held his beer for him so he could drink.
It was good day.
